Ok, Question: Would you want me to test this build? I will do so tonight if you'd like me to do so.

If so, what was the problem that was fixed. How do I prove in logs etc. its fixed?

please here, all my plugin for BassBox, Sonique
extract directly to Mediaportal.

45 Sonique
34 BassBox
1 Winamp (latest Milkdrop)

should be enough for testing.

Tested

Result > Perfect! Vis working. Thank you very much BassFan !!!

One note: Starting and stopping Vis is slow. Might be due to the fact I have still some incorrect versions of plugins installed for 1.5 pre. I still working on that later on today.

Logs attached.

Hi, Here is a new log. I updated all plugins, so this should make the logs cleaner.

Also, I did:
during playback Press X - wait till Vis starts which is instant.
Press X > back to playlist (delay 1st time is ~8seconds)
Press X > back to Vis (instant)
Press X > back to playlist (delay time is ~6seconds)
Press X > back to Vis (instant)
Press X > back to playlist (delay time is ~5seconds)
Press X > back to Vis (instant)
Press X > back to playlist (delay time is ~4seconds)
Press X > back to Vis (instant)
Press X > back to playlist (delay time is ~3seconds)
Press X > back to Vis (instant)
Press X > back to playlist (delay time is ~2seconds)
Press X > back to Vis (instant)
Press X > back to playlist (delay time is ~2seconds)
Press X > back to Vis (instant)
Press X > back to playlist (delay time is ~2seconds)
Press X > Popup message from Win8: MP not responding > soft crash as MP is still actually running.

Logs attached. :)

Did the test again, could not reproduce. But the timing story stays the same.
I attached that log as well.

MediaPortalLogs_29_08_13__22_44.zip = with crash
MediaPortalLogs_29_08_13__23_02.zip = without crash (and less errors)

@edterbak Popup message from Win8: MP not responding > soft crash as MP is still actually running.
What they do is extremely ;)
I think that no one visualizations changes every 2 seconds in the normal case.
You should give the plugin time for stopping.

i can not see any error in error.log
so this can a problem related to GUI or Vis
do not forgot Fullscreen = not Fullscreen
redraw the entire GUI again and again..

good to hear that it works on win8
because I do not have it

EDIT:
oops i see your use WMP.
Visualization Manager: WMP visualization initialization succeeded.

That is a internal Viz Plugin and do nothing with BassBox, Sonique or Winamp.
This is related to MP not to "Bass Visualization fix"

See my log..
i have switching to fullscreen music every second without any error (Winamp Milk2)
yes! is a bad idea ;)

We should mosst probably get rid for support of WMP Visualisations anyhow.
    Who really needs them?

And i agree, why would someone constantly change between vis and non-viz screens.
