Black Glass Skin 2.8.1 (1 Viewer)

Black Glass is a skin for Mediaportal. The latest official version is 2.8.1 and works for Mediaportal 1.2.0. It has been designed to work for the 1280x720 resolution (HD Ready). The skin should be easy to use and has a simple and clear look. I took the Theater skin as design inspiration and the default Mediaportal Blue3wide skin as codebase.
Fanart is supported in every screen.

The skin has been designed to be used from the Basic Home screen. However, it works fine using the standard menu home screen. A stand alone skin editor is available. It lets you edit your favorite basic home buttons and customise the main color of the whole skin.

Using the Extras Package 2.8.1, several options are available:

I love this skin, have been using one of the SVNs for ages, great to see a formal release.

I have a query though - is there a way I can change the backdrop transparency, to make it slightly less opaque?

I managed this in an older version of Black Glass, it was just a case of editing a mask image, but haven't had any luck with the later versions. I'm sure it's something simple!

Just look for the parameter <colordiffuse> in the "common.window.overlay.xml" file.
The first 2 hex digits are responsible for transparency. Lower values -> more transparency.

for your hard work again. Black Glass is real highlight of MediaPortal.

But I want to ask. Is hardcoded upper right corner of the screen (date, time, temperature) as is it in some pages (Moving Pictures, TV, TVWishList, Playing Now, ...) in the version 2.8.0 new trend and new rule? Will you not use the definition in the included files common.window.time?

Yes, you are right. In same plugins, the upper right corner infos are hard coded. I had to hard code them simply because of the new animation system that requires different conditional animations from the the default animation condition in common.window.time.xml file.

If you need to customize, just use an editor which can search and replace text throughout a whole folder such as Notepad++.

That's what I did. But increasingly I find that I can do without some modifications. On the one hand, I enjoy it, but work with it is endless ... You probably know better than me

Hi TGX,
I recently noted a problem in DialogMenu.xml, when I tried to use icon image as visual addon for the menu entries.
The menu text overwrites the image (that you placed to the right hand side).
Wouldn't it be better to place the image at the left hand side ? If not, text would have to be cut in the with to not overlay the image.
I probably would prefer having the image to the left - but either fix would be nice .

Will there be a Black Glass Basic skin for the New MediaPortal 1.3.0? And if so will it support the same "Media" folder, just curious that way I know how to configure my plugin
