hello,

i'm only an advanced user (caused by using MP ;-). well, i tried to find some help for creating such log-files, as i suggest it could help to find a clue to the bug. but didn't find anything, so could anyboby please give me a short discription how to run / use ts writer / create log files as nephilim did? i guess comparing log files from several systems with similar probs might help a lot.

ok since upating to the latest release yesterday (media-portal svn, tvserver + client), i also am receiving issues with changing channels, everything was fine before this update (only issue had was epg not populating properly - which worked under standard mp)

what happens when changing channels, it will either stay viewing the last channel, but the epg states you are on another channel, sometimes the channels will be blank with no audio, other times blank with audio, or displaying signal from other channel but audio from new channel.

I have also noticed when switching channels unlike previous versions the busy circle appears when accessing some channels.

i'll try and zip up all the logs i can find and post up

does tvserver create logs and if so would these be in the tvserver folder

for reference this is how i upgraded
ran the latest media-portal svn - backed mp up (also noticed to select backup you have to highlight and press space - unable to use mouse to click on the checkbox)
removed tvserver and client
installed tvserver
installed client
rebooted

now one message did come up stating something about the dvb-t tuner, but it should have linked into the sql db, so shouldn't have had a problem - but some channels are working ok

same behaviour on my mp, but after 2 or 3 days and several restarts, it's just gone. all channels and zapping etc. works fine, excepted the channels named in my post above. no idea...

the epg when viewing through the guide is not populated properly, but while viewing a channel and press OK to get the channel list, it shows what is actually on and what is next.

i've attached log files, hope this helps

Try clearing your cached files, only a thought.

any ideas on how to fix the blank screens or is it best to go back a version or so

ok further to this tried this and the same problem

also noticed it seems to be the tv server that is causing the problem regarding the channels - if switch channel the ts is still recording older channel for a while - if use the backwards forwards you can see the changes in the stream so the delay is longer on switching with newer build - this could be reason why displaying wrong image/blank screen but audio is correct

I upgraded from version 16420 last night and am also experiencing a black window for most channels.
I was only getting 2 channels to work correctly. It is the same when using preview or MediaPortal to view.

How about providing some logs with the TsWriter version in previous post? Without those no one is able to do anything for this issue.

Attached are two zip files.

The TsWriter date & time shows 4/11/2007 at 9:12PM (not sure where else to grab a version)

:sorry: for the lack of logs previously, I was at work and did have access to the logs.

When I get a chance I will re-install with the latest SVN from scratch.

I have only just changed over to TVServer.

I was thinking it was a bad move as I like Channel 4 and now get a black screen. Now I know I am not alone.

I have done two installs of the client plugin and both showed a registration problem with a .ax (I think) file. I just continued and the installs completed. Is this an unrelated problem ?

OK, I have now read about the C++ redistributable requirement.

I ge the Exact same issues while time shifting. last night I noticed mp was playing an old ts file while the guide said I was watching a dirrerent chanel.

I could fastforward this all the way to the proper live channel I was watching. This was all caused by changing chanel.

I get random black screens every 5-6 chanel changes and it happened on every svn so far.
