I'm using Win7 64Bit Business. I uninstall all the Media Centre stuff. I did give it a whirl to try with new Media-PC build but I can't get the same control as with MP. Least not without starting from scratch, learning all the tweaks! Devil you know and all that...

Quality of HD TV is fabby so worth persevering! :)

We had a couple of new laptops delivered to work today so I borrowed one and took it home and set it up with vanilla install of MP 1.1.2 tv client and connected it to my HTPC/TVserver and had another go at trying to get either MS DTV Audio or PowerDVD 10 codec to be the AAC codec and it is still not working, I didn't even install the Divx codec or any other codec packs just Power DVD 10 Trial and it still defaulted to the Monogram AAC codec.

Have you tried using that version of PDVD for regular video? After a certain revision, Cyberlink blocked their codecs from being used in third party applications. Hence the reason why I haven't upgraded ;)

here are the video and tv codec settings from my HTPC/TV server machine, version 10 of PowerDVD isn't blocked and for the last test I tried with the laptop I used the latest trial version from Cyberlink with the same build number as the version I have installed on my HTPC, and wrighta posted above that he has PDVD10 set as his LiveTV AAC codec and its working so I cannot understand why I am having a problem getting this to work also it would be great if he could post a screenshot of a remote graph from graphstudio. I have attached a screenshot from graphstudio with a std def channel running to show that pdvd10 is usable in MP 1.1.2 for Live TV

    Bucky,

This might be a dumb question, but what is the Cyberlink audio *renderer*? Have you tried a different one?

Ok I have tried again see the attached thumbnail this time set to use the ATi hdmi renderer and the second one the default directsound device. Still the same result Divx being used instead of the one that is set in the mediaportal.xml file.

Have you tried building a graph manually? That would confirm that the issue is with TS Reader. I can't tell you how to do that off the top of my head (I'm at work), but basically what you want to do is to copy the TV Server side of the graph (see the graphs in c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\ for reference) and combine it with the MediaPortal side of the graph which is what you have screenshots of. You don't need to involve TS Writer or TS Reader. That may be a bit too cryptic - I'll post a screenshot when I get home (6 hours or so)...

a screen shot would be great I am new to all the graphstudio stuff as I have never had to think about codecs etc untill I changed to this new tv card only made the change because I was getting fed up with Freesats lack of HD channels and I wanted more and Freeview HD seemed to be the better choice as there are plans for more HD channels in the near future.

Okay Bucky, here is the screenshot as promised.
    - The network provider comes from the BDA Network Providers category. You should use the generic one since you're on Windows 7 (I'm on XP which doesn't have that).
    - The tuner filter comes from the BDA Source Filters category. Choose one of the BGT3620 tuners that isn't being used.
    - The capture filter comes from the BDA Receiver Component category. If appropriate, choose the filter with the same suffix as the tuner filter you choose ie. Tuner 0 goes with Capture 0.
    - The MPEG-2 Demultiplexer comes from the Directshow Filters category. Don't worry if it doesn't have output pins when you insert it. Just don't connect it to the capture filter.
    - The Transport Information Filter (TIF) and Sections And Tables filter come from the Transport Information Renderer category.
    - The Cyberlink codecs will be in the Directshow Filters category, as will the video renderer. You will want to choose the EVR renderer (again, not available on XP so not in the screenshot).
    - The audio renderer is in the Audio Renderers category. I recommend you stick with the Default Directsound device to start with, but you can experiment if it doesn't work.

Once you have everything in the graph, connect the network provider to the tuner, and the tuner to the capture by clicking and holding on the appropriate output "pin", dragging the mouse to the appropriate input "pin", and finally releasing. For the rest, right click on the output pin of the capture filter and click render pin. That will automatically connect things up. It may add some filters that you didn't want. Just delete them and replace them with the filters you added earlier. Note that the output pins on the Demultiplexer are meant to connect to specific things, so you have to connect the audio to pin 3 etc. Finally, I don't have the Cyberlink Audio decoder so I improvised with AC3Filter.

Ok I have done the graph but this is on my Vista HTPC/TV Server. Now one thing I have noticed is that this is only for MPEG2 the DVB-T2 Mux uses H264 and AAC LATM which so far has only shown up in in the graph when I have captured the graph of LiveTV
