    Hi Bucky

So did the PDVD audio codec not connect - is that why you had the MPA codec in the graph?
Pay no attention to the "MPEG 2" demultiplexer. It doesn't mean MPEG 2 as in MPEG 2 video format. MPEG is also a stream format specification, and that is what the MPEG refers to in this case...

When I right clicked on the output pin of the capture filter I was surprised when the MPC-MPA Filter was magically :p dragged into the graph as I didn't actually put it in there I had the PowerDVD one in there only so I am begining to think the person that said he had it working with pdvd hasn't.

Now if I have this right when you are using livetv with MP that it isn't really live tv but the TSReader is streaming the timeshift buffer even when MP is installed as a standalone (MPTV Client and TVServer on same PC) HTPC.

That is just what happens when you render the pin - no magic involved. I think it automatically chooses the codec with the highest merit in the system. The MPA codec does *not* support HE-AAC, so if wrighta said he had it working then it wasn't with that. You didn't answer my question though: can you replace the MPA codec with the PDVD codec? Just delete the MPA one and attempt to make the connections with the PDVD one instead...

You have understood correctly. No it isn't "live" live ***ultra live***, but the delay is only around a second or so. And of course the benefit is that you can timeshift. Even live TV from live sports etc. isn't 100% live. :D

As a complete newbie to GraphStudio, can anyone shed any light on how I can get it to graph my setup with PDVD Audio and prove if that's what's being used?

Since changing to use PDVD Audio manually set in Mediaportal.xml HD playback, either live of of recodings has been rock solid.

    Hi wrighta

First thing you should do is download and register the proppage.dll that Bucky posted earlier. Instructions:

    1. Download and extract the DLL into C:\Windows\system32.
    2. Open a command line (open start menu, search for cmd).
    3. Enter the command cd C:\WINDOWS\system32
    4. Enter the command regsvr32 proppage.dll

    After that:

    1. Open MP and start viewing an HD channel on a DVB-T2 mux.
    2. Open GraphStudio.
    3. Click "file"->"connect to remote graph...".
    4. There should only be one entry in the list of graphs. Click on it and then click "connect".
    5. Post a screenshot.

    Simple as that ;)

Thanks mm1352000 for your help posting. Curiosity and hatred of being beaten forced me to keep working on it, so I missed your posting.

OK, after some more digging on the MP forums, I found out the reason I couldn't get it to work. Needed the proppage.dll sorting.

See attached graph. It shows that it's the DivX codec actually being used!
So why does MP not obey Mediaportal.xml?
Why has my setup been more stable since changing this property?

In any case, I'd really like the PowerDVD option to be added to the LTM AAC Audio property properly.

We had talked about this earlier on this thread ;)

Bucky, you have your answer. Not the one we wanted, but there it is.

So why does MP not obey Mediaportal.xml?
It will try to connect the codec, that you choose, but it can't make filters connect when they aren't compatible. When that happens it falls back to the next compatible codec.

Why has my setup been more stable since changing this property?
I don't know. What were you using before?

In any case, I'd really like the PowerDVD option to be added to the LTM AAC Audio property properly.
Not going to happen until such time as the PowerDVD codec can actually connect to TsReader with HE-AAC. Sorry, but there is no point adding the option if the option won't work. It will only end up confusing people - they'll think they're using the PDVD codec but they're actually not. That is okay when things are working but makes my job (support) that much more difficult when things aren't working.

My reasoning was that PDVD was able to decode, as before I installed DivX, I was able to play a recorded HD .ts file using PDVD without problem.

I just tried using PDVD to playback such a file but GraphStudio doesn't find a stream to remote connect to!
Any ideas how I can check what audio decoder PDVD is using?

I don't really want to uninstall DivX since the box is working so well.

Sorry forgot to mention that I tried a manual connection to the PDVD audio codec with no luck.

ATM I am in update hell with a Windows 7 Pro x64 install on the HTPC but when I get MP installed and setup I will try the graphstudio again this time using PowerDVD 10 from my install DVD and not patching it with the latest release and see if that makes a difference and Divx codec isn't getting anywhere near the PC for the timebeing.

oh crap just read past your reply to me and I was right pdvd can't be used wonder if coreaac can as I have a copy of that and I also have nero 10 which I think comes with Nero AAC codec which I think supports HE-AAC

I tried copying one of the HD TV .ts files to my laptop and can play it using PDVD or VLC player fine. Audio & Video. WMP & Nero 9 Showtime plays but no audio.
I can't get GraphStudio to connect remotely to any of these apps to see what codecs they are actually using.

I don't have DivX installed on the laptop so they can't be using that for audio!!
