Is there a way to block out subfolders from showing up? In my My Music folder, I have a Itunes sub-folder that has a lot of duplicates of my music, but I don't want to have that be 'found' on Media Portal.

I guess you could create a new administrative user and run MP under that login. Then modify the windows access so the user you created isn't able to see it.

It's a lot of messing around though,..

If you make the folder hidden that will definitely hide it from MP, what effect this will have on itunes I don't know, but I seem to recall that itunes uses hidden folders to hide the ipod from windows, so perhaps itunes will see the folder.

even if iTunes has issues, you should be able to run the iTunes service as a different user that has view rights to that folder. start/run/services.mcs and then edit the "run as" properties for the iTunes service. Not sure about this though, as I hate iTunes...
Of course you could also just move one of the folders to somewhere different...

I have a little batch file that I can run to hide my music on my machine, and unhide my GF's music. I simply hide the folder in windows, and MP will not display it anymore.

Of course, just because a folder is hidden doesnt mean its NOT accessable. just try hiding a folder and then typing in its location in windows explorer - you will still see the contents of that folder. So any files you hide from browsing are still accessable by the OS and any programs that need it.

My problem is that I would like to switch from Kodi to Mediaportal. In Kodi, putting an Extras folder in the same folder as the movie automatically manages all the extras on the Bluray, so my library is organized in this way. Moving everything would be a very long job (I have more than 2800 movies), plus I would lose the Extras...

The reason I was thinking I needed more RAM is that TV now seems to be HiDef and so the files have grown. I edit the files before storing them, to reduce some size. It is finding that slower, I think. Or it could just be because I'm expecting more? The Baseboard manufacturer says ASUSTech Computer Inc; Baseboard product P7P55D-E...
