Hi,

I've managed to get the plugin working almost perfectly, however i still have 1 problem.
i've read through this thread and i'm still confused as to how to solve it.

i cannot get the remote to close powerDVD

i've tried assigning {alt}{F4} or {ctrl}x or {ctrl}{x} or {browser_back} to various buttons on the remote using the hd_starter.ini file but nothing seems to have any effect.

i'm using the original MCE remote (this one, http://windowsdevcenter.com/windows/2006/11/28/graphics/fig-21.jpg)

I want to assign the 'back' button to close powerDVD (i ran autokey and the back button seems to register as '166')

the remote works fine when controlling powerDVD but then it does anyway without the plugin.
Its as though powerDVD is just ignoring any of my attempts at remapping and just using its defaults.

i'm using powerDVD 7.3 (with HD-DVD and Blu-ray support)

i'm a little confused as to what versions of the files from the first post i need as there seems to be different copies of a few of them
(if understand correctly, one of them is to get the plugin to work with players installed in different locations?)

what HD_starter.ini settings do i need to get this to work?

and do i have to do something to powerDVD to get it to stop using the remote? (then map the keys manually?)

thanks in advance for any help!

Hi guys - just installed this plugin but it isnt working. Here are my notes:

1) Opens PowerDVD 7 on my PC screen (running duel screens) and not my TV. How do I get it to open automatically by default on my TV?
2) When PDVD7 opened, it didnt autoplay the Blu Ray disk. I had to manually select the E: as the source (with my mouse on my PC, no remote :(.
3) My keyboard was unusable because of the shortcut mapping. I have to work on my PC at times while my wife likes to watch movies.

Please let me know if you can help in anyway. Thanks!

    PowerDVD and MediaPortal. Confused!!

I'm sorry to post here something that is extensively discussed in other place. I thought, as a Newcomer, you should understand.

    ATTENTION:
PowerDVD and MediaPortal must be installed in the path %PROGRAM FILES%\Team MediaPortal\ and %PROGRAM FILES%\Cyberlink

Otherwise should the Script (HD_Starter_autohotkey_source.rar) changed and new compiled!

When you write %PROGRAM FILES%\Team MediaPortal\ and %PROGRAM FILES%\Cyberlink do you mean exactly what you write?

My OS (Vista Home Premium) is in Italian: the Program Files folder is named by default Programmi
any standar installations put files in that directory. Therefore this is for MediaPortal and Cyberlink

Copy the files HD Starter.dll and HD_Starter.exe in the MediaPortal plugins\Windows directory
    2. Execute the DLLFix in the plugins\Windows directory
    All done

Copy the MediaPortal Skin Image in the desired Skin\Media folder

In Programmi\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal folder, the "skin" folder does not appear
I can find it in Program Data (hidden folder in C:\) Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\etc...

I tryed to follow your instruction putting e.g. "hd starter" in the right folder (inside Programmi) etc... but skins image in the corresponding folder I found in ProgramData (Hidden Folder). Same situation for Cyberlink.

Open the MP Config and choose the HD Starter plugin (its a MultiShortCurt plugin), select the desired icon and the HD_Starter.exe path
    5. Enter the needed settings like in the Screenshot

Done but he plugin cant find the skin image and cant access the path for hd starter.exe, moreover cant find the hd starter.XLM file (this is what now I remember, may be a different file) in the requested folder (in fact it is not there). Closing the error report and starting MediaPortal
a new button appears (named: no name) and, off course, noting happens selecting it.

Moreover trying to read the original script I sow it talks about Cyberlink.exe not Cyberlink9.exe; it is looking for Cyberlink\PowerDVD folder not Cyberlink\PowerDVD9 folder

Should all theese be the problems why I'm getting an error trying to configure the plugin after installation?

Right now I disabilited the plug in.

Should I revrite the script (and if this is the case, how can I do)? Am I doing any mistakes?

    Thank you

    Hi Barbagallo,

are you refering to the first post of MoPhat? If so, the language-specific installation path is ment. I've rewritten the plugin and posted it in post #584. The advantage of my plugin is, that it uses an ini-file, in which you can put in your pathes to PDVD (it differs from one Cyberlink PDVD-Version to the next). No change and recompile of the HD_Starter.exe is necessary. As I don't use Vista, I don't know where the skin-files are installed.

The path to HD_Starter.exe should be C:\programmi\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\windows\HD_Starter.exe

have you already tried to change your primary screen (it must be your TV)? Keep in mind that PDVD might to refuse working on a dual-screen-setup because of copy protection via analogue devices. In this case you must switch to single-mode-setup (is it nvidia?)

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I have installed the plugin an at the first moment it wored perfectly. But yesterday I found a problem:

If I mount an iso with the mp deamon plugin (i use vcd) and I open after the mount the HD Player is will work until I hibernate my machine. After a resume from hibernation (with or without a remount of the iso) the HD Player will be launched but when PDVD analyes the BluRay is will stop and I don't know why.

Do you have an idea what could be the reason for that?

fyi: :confused:I've had the rename the PDVD.exe because the name of mine (I think it was PDVD9 or so) was different to that in your script. I renamed the real pdvd.exe not the file of the launcher.

    Thank you for your help.

Installed and got this plugin working in the most part too as well.

The only think I can't do with the MCE remote is exit power dvd. the back or the greem MCE buttons don't do it. at the moment i need the Mouse to close power DVD and to get back into media portal.

use another starter.exe from here . I used this one. just press back button and pdvd stops and you're back to MP.
