Ok I've compiled my own version and pdvd8 starts out of MP and the Film starts but how can I go back to MP?

Nimm den Patch aus Kommentar 585 in diesem Thread, überschreib die ursprünglichen Dateien damit, dann musst Du die Pfade in der enthaltenen HD_Starter.ini anpassen und evtl. auch nochmal die die enthaltene HD_Starter.ahk editieren und neu kompilieren, aber unbedingt die im Patch enthaltene Sourceversion nehmen. Dann noch diese MausRaus.exe nach C: verschieben oder an die Stelle, die in der *.ini (oder *.ahk?) eingestellt ist. Ist alles ne Sache von 5min und ganz einfach.

Update with the patch from comment 585 of this thread, owerwrite the existing files, customize the paths in the included HD_Starter.ini file, edit and recompile the included HD_Starter.ahk if needed, be sure to take the source-file included in the patch. Copy MausRaus.exe to C: or the path preset in the *.ini (or *.ahk?). Its very easy and will take less than 5 minutes.

Aber das gefällt mal mir so garnicht. Ich denke ich lege das BD-Rom in den Schrank und baue das DVD-Rom wieder ein.
Ich hoffe einfach mal das es eines Tages direkt mit MP möglich ist BD's anzusehen.

Das ist ja nun eigentlich Quatsch, denn DVD kannst Du ja normal weiter über den internen MP-Player anschauen und bis auch die BR-Funktionalität fest im MP integriert ist, ist das Plugin doch ne Top-Übergangslösung.

Where is the problem? DVDs you can watch as ever by using the internal MP-Player. Until BD-capability ist fully included in MP, the plugin ist a very good temporary solution.

using the files from post #585 you don't need to compile HD_Starter.ahk. All you must do is editing the ini-file and put in your pathes. MausRaus.exe is not needed if you don't have an issue with your mouse-cursor. But I would recommend to use it. Put it in a folder of your choice and put the path into the ini-file. There are comments in, what to do.

All you have to do to come back to MP after watching BD is to terminate PDVD8

How well does this work with Media Portal and are there any screenshots of the menu options, etc.?

I'm thinking of getting the ASRock Ion 330 with Blu-Ray, but I don't think it comes with any BD software.

Works very finde and its a good solution, until BluRay-Playback will be supportet natively in MP.

You will get a bundle-version of PowerDVD when you buy a new BluRay-device, then you can get a free update to a newer version, but the bundle-versions are always limited to work on 2 Channels only on regular sound-output, but on SPDIF-out (optical/digital) you can always hear full Dolby Digital sound. An upgrade to the full Version of PowerDVD without these limitations is much cheaper than buying the full Version, it costs 49€ in Europe.
