The new Blue Vision home screen is not working here. It did not show anything. Instead the previous content still is displayed but without the possibility to navigate into the shown section.
And as far as I can tell already, all previously mentioned navigation issues are still there...
Did you delete the settings as I wrote?
If you used Bluevision before, please delete this file before installation: \ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client\Config\MediaPortal.UiComponents.BlueVision.Settings.MenuSettings.xml
Perhaps this brings also the new navigation features. I can definitely not see the problems of 1a and 1b

No changes to TV features have been made, sorry.
No worries, it's not a big issue and there are two workarounds:
    • find the recording in the EPG > right click > extend schedule
    • SQL update on MPTV database
    I decided on the latter.

Yes I have done this more than one time...

I can definitely not see the problems of 1a and 1b
Simply choose Grid View and navigate some lines down and then one column to much to the right and voila you are leaving the movies, series or whatever section and you are into the next part (TV in this case). I can reproduce this a hundred percent. If I find a nice screen video capture software I will make a screen video to show you...

    Hi.
Also I had to fight against tons of spyware bundled with cam studio I have done a screen video. PQ is not as I would like it, but you can see what's wrong.

At first you can see that there still is an issue with focus on startup. MP2 client did not have focus also it should have. I navigate to videohub, then to movies and then some lines down. Now I press "cursor right" on the remote and suddenly I'm in the TV section. This definitely is a 100% "NoGo". Next I press "cursor up" to navigate back to where I came from but now I'm in the "Others" section. This also is nothing I can accept as a "wanted behaviour", it simply "feels" completely wrong. At last I navigate to the home screen, that did not show up any of the expected content.

Hope you now see what I'm talking about...

By the way, I have exactly the same issues when I'm using default theme, so it is not related to my "grey" theme. Seems pretty impossible as I did not touch any xaml files at all, only change some gfx. But I want to tell, just in case you are thinking in this direction...

Ok, can confirm this now. I tried 10 times, 8 times I came to TV section and 2 times to Main Menu. I guess I was just lucky before, though I do not understand how it's possible to jump into different places.
@morpheus_xx , @osre I wish I could do something about the controls, but I have no clue how and where it is defined. As Lehmden mentioned the problem is (at least partly) also with other skins of MP2.
I think we should create a requirement list for the controls, means how to reach somewhere and what will happen if the user acts unexpected (E.g. clicking "right button", though there is no further items on the right side. It could be prevented or it can be used to reach group menu, view style, ...).
@Lehmden could you start with some ideas. I think you have already clearer expectations than all of us :) I will also think (at least for BlueVision) how an intuitive control concept could look like.

So I start with something based on my remote control

Here my requirements for control of BlueVision:

    • Green button: Coming to last selected item in group menu
    • Back button: Going back one action
    • i button: In medialistview opens the main menu, where also the view style option can be found
    • Power button: opens the power options
    In grid view:
    • Left button, when already in left column: going to first row
    • Right button, when already in right column: going to last row
    • Up button, when already in the top row: going to group menu
    In cover flow view:
    • Up button: going to group menu

    Hi.
when already in left column: going to first row
when already in right column: going to last row
This I don't like too much. In daily use you'll often hit those by accident (that's why right now you are leaving Movies and find yourself in TV also you never wanted to go there).
What about some "navigate buttons" on the left and right in Grid view, on bottom in cover flow and probably only left in List view. I can imagine a column (or row, if in coverflow) of 5 small "arrows". Topmost is navigating to the top of the list. Second is navigating one page up. In the middle there is a button for reaching the "hidden menu" below there is "page down" and on bottom there is "go to last row"... I'll try to make a mockup if it is not clear enough what I mean. This would make navigation a lot faster and more "safe". This is a point where I would prefer functionality over design but I can imagine this to look not that bad. Maybe this is invisible as long as you don't hit it or something like that...

Later I can make detailed plans how I like to have the navigation with some screenshots. But I can not tell when exactly I find the time for it.

If we go in this direction I could imagine only following without messing up the design. Navigation bottons on the right side behind the fanart.
When pressing "right button" on remote control from the right cover column the focus comes to the navigation buttons. Since the focus is not anymore on a mediaitem the fanart area is empty, so the navigation buttons would be visible. I'm just not sure of scrolling in the mediaitems is possible without focus, but there should be a solution.
With the middle buttons (normal arrow) it's possible to scroll into the next screen, means 3 rows forward. With the top and bottom button it's possible to reach the top or bottom row.

    Hi.
Really close to what I was thinking of.(y)

If you add a fifth button in centre this can be for reaching the hidden menu. And this could be on the left on the grid too, replacing the scrollbar there when you leave the grid to the left...
