I have already reworked the menu building 2 times in different ways. Until now I haven't found the perfect solution yet

Sounds cool , similar to WMC with a menu entry point for playing medias.
Could you find a solution? This would be something I want to see for keeping MP2. Current player controls hide text in many positions

@ge2301 I noticed that this change (https://github.com/MediaPortal/MediaPortal-2/commit/6a7fbd641e60b2f947dd6dd31cea330ef2ef8eea) introduces huge stuttering of video playback on my low-end HTPC graphics. This is especially visible in the TV MiniGuide when watching TV.

I'll revert those 2 files locally, but I think we should find a resource saving solution.

@ge2301 could you please revert this change from BV? I'd like to create a new weekly build this weekend and would like to have the previous glow shadow, which was not as resource hungry...

Never mind, I've seen it was just one commit. I've reverted it inside the weekly branch and will try to create a new build now.

No, I don't know unfortunately. I think morpheus_xx is busy lately, we need to wait.

@ge2301 I have created a new home tile for "search programs":

The new ID is "D91738E9-3F85-443B-ABBD-EF01731734AD". Can you create a nice new tile graphic for it, please?

As the new tile would be appear under "Others" by default, I have also added a config setting to restore the default menu layout.

Note at @Lehmden , you may not use this feature with your custom layout But you can place the new tile at same position, if you prefer.

This change is only included in "FEAT_UpdateTVE" branch, where I currently rework/fix some parts of TV

But you can place the new tile at same position, if you prefer.

I think I will do so. Maybe the first job for the menu editor I'm thinking about. Best would be if all skins are having xml stlye definition files for the menu like BV has so this can work more generic...

BTW. I would prefer the first tile, looks more interesting imho.
