Runtime is working perfectly for me now! I don't know what I did!

Don't worry about the DVD Covers, I will check which ones of mine fit and resize them all to that size. Should have done it before!

I figured out the problem with my screen size. Nvidia Control had somehow reverted to NTSC and resized my screen. I reset it to PAL and had to shrink the screen a bit to see everything (which I did not have to do with the driver in XP!) and it is all fine now.

The fanart is Ok now that I have resized my screen. I think that was just distorting it? I am downloading the rest now, and will check the forum as well. If there are any TV Series I can't find, I'll let you know


I'll check out the overlay in TV Search and see if I can figure it out. I'll let you know or send up an updated xml if I can.

I only have one thing not working. The Translated Title in My Films Details is still covered by the Rating and Format data. I can easily change it on mine if it is OK on your screen.

How did you select random Fanart? The only setting I can find is for Random Banners and that does not alter the fanart.

How do you switch views? I normally just hit the left or right button and it brings up the view menu, but now you said those buttons are disabled so do you have to go to the context menu and then select? Oh, maybe I had programmed that in my remote before, I will have to check!

I really have to say, your TV Series screen looks fantastic with the fanart.

Already made some adjustments in the new version. I have problems too which I could solve by batch resizing them all but that's no perminant solution (there will be stuff added later )

Good thing you solved your problem. It was the cause for fanart not displaying right.

Hey Joz, here are the files I modified. In MesFilmsDetail.xml I just lowered the position of the Rating Stars and the #format data, and moved it left a bit so more info showed. Just for interest, I changed the title to Coral text color, but I can't decide if I like it.

I solved the problem in the TVGuide Search. I've enclosed a new mytvsearch.xml with the preview screen in the lower left, and some more details of the program. I adjusted a few things for readability. I don't have Program Descriptions yet (I have to modify my WEBEPG grabber files for that which is another tedious job). So, I can't fully test it. Hopefully someone else will, especially since things seem to vary slightly from screen to screen!

I couldn't find those little arrows and numbers to move a page up or down. I noticed you don't have them anywhere. They are only really useful to tell you how many pages there actually are in a list.

Runtime is back to not working. It is fine in TV Series, but in My Films, it only updates after I go to the Details screen, as you and Mike reported above.

You never did answer how you get random fanart? Or how you select a different view in TV Series?

BTW I know what you mean about the refresh plugin. I don't use it! I make a change in the xml, save it, load MP check it, close MP make another change.... it's pretty tedious. Then I have to run into the other room and check it on my TV screen. At least I get some exercise!

Someone should Sometimes I just do stuff quickly and stuff like this happens. Also noticed an abundant space somewhere in one of the tickers I believe (in one of my screenshots)

I thought there was some option to have random fanart everytime you enter a tvseries but I believe this is standard behaviour. So when inside a series the fanart won't change anymore when navigating. Go back to tvseries series listing and select it again and it (might) show a different fanart image.

I removed those on purpose. Just takes up room was my thinking. Don't use them anyways (pageup/down does the same, or next/prev channel on remote)

I think I just changed the size and positioning of the preview screen (it's near the bottom of the xml). Can't remember, too many changes, too many hours at my computer! I want to put a preview on the TV Guide as well. Do you want that file when I do it?

The only places I ever like the page up and down arrows is in big lists, like all movies, all TV Series (both of which I rarely use) but it is useful for the TV Search cuz there are always tons of programs listed and you can't always tell if you are in the full list or just the A's etc. So then I know to use a letter on the keypad to get to the section I want. I am always checking it for the next airing of a show! So, is it from a common xml or can I add it just to mytvsearch? If so, where do I find it? I'll probably remember tomorrow!

I really should come up with a permanent solution for this. tvseries is way to filled up now to have any kind of video/audio overlay, maybe on top of the fanart or something... It is kinda hard with not so much space, and I actually kinda forgot about it till it was mentioned

regarding your pageup/down buttons:

I removed them by ways of setting the <spinPosX> to -100 in references.xml. So if you just add this to the listcontrol of mytvsearch.xml and set it to whatever say 300 so it's visible.

Thanks for the tip re pageup/down buttons. I'll try it tomorrow. If you want preview in TVSeries you could always overlay the episode image on the Details screen. It's about the right size! I dunno about the main screen though! Above the Title? Kinda small.

Is this still a working plugin in 1.0 final (I thought otherwise)?

If not I can't really test it, so can't skin it either.

I like MultiShortcut better. That way I can have buttons showing in extra/watch/game/ whatever basic kind of menu.
For example I have a button on my desktop that turns on and off my server/htpc (the one i'm doing this skin for) in some skins

Hi Joz,
Have you thinked about re-design MyTV and/or For The Record TV section (very similar) ?

I use MyTV (For The Record) and TV Guide a lot. MyTV layout is good for me, and maybe a change in font size could be enough. Maybe with more inputs from others we could arrange a set of requirements.

MP-TVSeries support is amazing and very very usable, thanks!

BTW, a really good skin.
