Blue3++ (a 4:3 skin mod) - 0.1.3 (2 Viewers)

It's looking really good now Joz! I love the large text headers, though I miss the logos in a few places

I just have a few little things I've found so far

1. I have this white line on the main screen and it turns into some weird shadow effects on all other screens (see MyFilms screenshot.) This is in full screen NOT using the Basic Home Menu. I'm guessing this is from your Top Bar Mod (Side Bar)

2. In Music, the preview box (below the cd cover) is blank even while playing media.

3. In MyFilms (Main) the Country shows up as #pays and Format as #format when I first go in. After going to details and back it is fine. Just like the runtime issue before. Also, I miss the logo, could it go below the Cover or are you using that space for something else?

4. In MyFilms (Detail), the Translasted Title shows OTitle (and then the title if there is one), must be a typo in the xml. The cover images all fit perfectly now. Thanks, fantastic job resizing! The Rating stars overlap the image at the bottom a bit on my screen and the Title overlaps the View Label which could be removed IMHO as I've always found it annoying and uninformative! See the attached screen shot for examples of the above.

5. In TV Series (Main) the Descrition overlaps the box that starts with Genre (is that what you said was already added to the roadmap?), and there is no view label (e.g. Unwatched, All, etc.) maybe it would fit under the date?

6. In TV Series (Details), which looks fantastic BTW, the view label below the list control could be aligned left not right as it looks a bit funny with short labels.

7. TV Guide and Search are still a mess. I'll check out the versions I sent you and see if they still look good.

As promised screenshots of film grouping, I mark with red group name. When title is long, it can overlap group name.
Also for detail view I use 2 titles and secondary one not looking good.

One other thing, the folder inside the zip should be "skin" not "skins" so we can just drag and drop it into the Mediaportal directory! And of course at some point it should include an install.txt or readme file.

Weird thinking this could have to do with media folder cleanup... So I guess I should just make a mess of that folder and never try cleaning stuff up... too much headaches.
It for certain has nothing to do with the sidebar. The sidebar is only implemented in basichome and therefore should only affect basichome... More likely it has something to do with the rotatey animation

This is already under my attention. Doesn't hurt to look at the roadmap once in a while if stuff had been added

Will test this some more. If yo're right nothin else to do than remove the ticker all together.

Also, I miss the logo, could it go below the Cover or are you using that space for something else?
I removed all logos to have a consistent look with other plugins. The only skin that still has a logo is tvseries. That one doesn't look like any other plugin anyways...
If you like your logos I could try stuff with fading it in the background or something. Might look good, no gaurentees!

No typo. Remember you're running a test build so there's test data in there...

I can see that in your screenshots. This is bearly noticable for me on my tiny screen. Will re adjust it some more.

yep, fixed on my test system already, again something that's barely noticable for me.

I removed this on purpose. It's kinda obvious you are in the "all" currentview on the mainscreen right? That was my thinking.
Edit: Oh right, I never use this but you can set tvseries to show unwatched etc.... then it makes sense to put it somewhere

Can't be done with fadelabels. Naturally it scrolls from right to left, makes sense for readability. Try reading text that scrolls the other way... that's hard.

As I said already I won't be doing any tv specific stuff for now so yes they are still the same.
What I would suggest for now is that you just copy paste your own files whenever you want to install a new release. As I'm not really touching those files there shouldn't be any problems with that. If there is feel free to ask whatever skinning based question. Try my best to answer them.
If your up to it you could be the contributor for the MyTV section. I can use all the help there is I will be glad to help you testing your skinning as much as I can. I tested this skin on my desktop and screws over all most everything so testing on that (which has a tvcard) doesn't work...

Hi joz, I've MyTV and MyVideo without the blue background, but with a black background. See attached.

MyTV background is always black, recorded TV it's blue.

MyVideos is blue in default visualization (folders), and black in others, like "genres".

Thinking it could have to do with media folder cleanup, I replaced "Media" with the one coming from 0.0.5.1, but it is the same...

nope no media cleanup this time.
This was me removing the background from common.window.xml to fix another issue, I think.
Should place it back and make an exception using the visible tag.

Remember it's a test build

It might be something with fonts, the whitelines you are experiencing. It's in the same place as where the title should go... Although that would be weird if it does work in detail... headaches.

The screen of my videos seems different. You have the spincontrols sitting there for example.
I checked just now but it's not the background missing in the media folder or xml file. will try to release something proper soon.

Edit: can replicate my videos... can't ofcours with tv cause I can't even get in that screen, just showing me a popup to go away

Edit2: quick fix, copy paste "common.window1.xml" from blue3 to blue3++

Joz, the white lines are just on my Computer screen which is 4:3 1280x1024. On my TV 1024x768, the titles are there, and everything looks fine! I can't think why! Haven't done any screen calibration on either. I only shrunk my TV screen size using NVidia Control Panel.

The weird thing is, when I first loaded MP, it was fine on my computer screen. But the next time I loaded MP the wihte lines appeared and no titles! That's why the My Films Details screen looked fine on the screen shot I sent you. Now it has the white lines too, so at least it is consistent!

It's not urgent! No worries, no headaches.

And sure, I'll do the MyTV section. It will give me more practice! I'm sure Mike and Cybertex and other users will test it out thoroughly. .

I tested the TV Guide and Search files I sent you and they still work fine. I will modify them with the Large Title design and maybe some other features soon.

I have modified skins for the last couple of years to fit my 4:3 nicely (which is why I am so thrilled about Blue3++), but I never felt I could do a whole skin cuz I just don't use enough of the plugins and features to test it well.

MyWeather Icon in home screen:
I don't like the Blue3 icon for MyWeather, it resembles a bunch of eggs. Time ago meq123 suggested a new icon, here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/blue3-skin-feedback-293/blue-3-a-46300/index4.html#post318070

Why don't include it (or a similar version) in Blue3++? I think meq123 will agree in using his work.

I agree! The weather icon is the worst of the bunch.
I would if meq123 had included something I can work with... the file posted over there doesn't have a transparant background and there's no active state (green button background).

TV Guide and Search files

Thanks for offering to test Cybertex. I know I posted these files in previous posts, but here they are so you can check them out with 0.1 first. They seem to be working for me.

I don't have a lot of data in my EPG grabber so I had to use test data and I may have missed some things. As I said, I will change the design to match what Joz is doing and anything else you might suggest.
