finally got some spare time to try out this on my HTPC
my desktop pc works fine with just 2.0 speakers already with this plugin

sorry for the long description! lol

alright so i have a Sony amp - running with spdif and outputting dd 5.1 and DTS ..but nothing more

when playing **MKV's** it uses the haali matroska splitter and i can take true hd and dts hd ma and it just takes the core out and plays it in 5.1 or DTS *all smooth*
i use the coreAVC 2.0 video decoder with ffdshow audio decoder(beta7 tryouts or SAF5) for any MKV containing H264 - whereas the windows DMO Decoder gets used instead for VC-1 videos - both of these situations are smooth and great in MP!

for **blurays** however i encounter a problem
the haali splitter is unusable and we're forced to use the gabest mpeg splitter and MPC-MPA audio decoder(i made the registry change for .m2ts files to use the gabest source splitter). when playing video with H264, coreAVC 2.0 works great and the audio is smooth also!

when playing any blu rays with VC-1 video, coreAVC 2.0 cant be used (coz it doesnt support it) and instead it uses the Windows WMO video decoder - however its not smooth with any audio decoder i have on my system..the MPC-MPA audio decoder does the best job but it stutters....so any VC1 blu rays are unplayable

theres no problem with CPU ..u can see my specs in my sig or the my system lenk to the left

any ideas i can try to get VC-1 blu rays working?

are you using saf 5 unlocked?
I have saf5 unlocked and i'm using cyberlink decoder for blurays and that works fine.
had some isues with wmo decoder before, but changing to cyberlink solved it, if i remember correctly

btw this is more a question for the codec section rather this plugin forum.....imho

SAF5 support VC-1, but progresive only (VC-1p). Interlaced is not supported. VC-1i need to be suported on FFMpeg level first, then all players based on FFMpeg (FFDshow, MPC-HC, XBMC, VLC, etc...) will be able to play VC-1i.

I recently tried this nice plugin.

    a few problems.

    1) it wont start playback of blueray if TV is running or probably any other media (video/mp3).'
I have to stop playback before starting blueray.

    2) it does not offer the user to resume as last point.

btw. Who needs DVD/blueray menus ?
    Personally I hate them.

    1) Will be fixed but i thought g_player would stop the active media when new playback starts and looking at the code it should.. but it doesn't?
    2) I'm working on a solution for My Videos, Moving Pictures already supports it.

Just tested this with live TV & radio (webstream) and both stopped when i started a Blu-ray (and indeed MovingPictures asked for resume both times)

ok well after some more testing i found that the haali splitter works great with the VC-1 M2TS files on my blu ray discs ..using the MS DMO video decoder and MPC-MPA audio decoder

is there a way to choose haali as the splitter for VC1 content?

VC-1 format has some weird stuff with the timestamps. I bet this is causing the MPC-HC splitter to fail in some cases (causing stuttering).
