Are you saying these errors only occur with this patch, or did you also have them previously with standard MP 1.4? You've previously reported that scanning was working better with this patch when compared with MP 1.4. I assumed you had also tested that tuning (timeshifting and recording) was also working. Was my assumption incorrect?

No, Sorry. I had no reasion to think the patches were going to affect timeshifting

This last set of tests were from a reinstall - no patches installed after.

Both sets of log files in your previous post - OTA_Failure.zip and Reboot.zip - are definitely produced by a patched install.

    Indeed this look strange !

    @breese :
Can you reinstall proper 1.4 -> try -> grab log.
Use patched files -> try -> grab log.

You surely messed up something @ some point.

    Thanks for helping us :)

I have downloaded a fresh copy of 4.1
Is there some other way than just reinstalling but not killing my Client / Server setup?
    Also, what is grab.log

Sorry :) what i mean by grab log is to get/generate log like you already do :)
Just to be sure : 4.1 is 1.4 full installer ?

Ok you can upgrade your current installation (it will keep your current setting) :)
    To do that :

1- Start full MP 1.4 installer and stop it (Close it).
    2- Go to : %temp%\MediaPortal Installation\deploy\
3- Run : package-mediaportal.exe and package-tvengine.exe (it will upgrade your installation by restoring original stock DLL).

Now try to scan etc. and get LOG :)

Then, you can replace with mm's dll and try and get LOG :)

    Good luck :)

    Sorry Guys, My bad....
Sebastiii, Thank you for the instrustion, Worked Perfect!

ATSC_NewInstall is exactly that... (almost forgot how Slow the old way was!)
    Found 53 OTA ATSC channels
    NBC5 Timeshift was Perfect!!

    1.4_2.0_update
decided to restart testing at 1.4 2.0 to see if I did in fact miss this test... I did and I am sorry!!
Did a new scan without the tswriter and no channel names (expected)
    Found 57 channels
Installed the new tswriter, cleared channel lists, rescanned.
    Found 54 channels
Very fast scan, almost all channels have names
    NBC5 Timshift failed....

Unless you say otherwise, I see no point in updating to 2.1

MM, care to IM me for access?

    Thanks breese! (y)

    Sorry Guys, My bad....
No need to apologise - thanks to your tests the situation is clear now. :)
So, the patch is definitely causing the timeshift issue. I spent some time looking at the code again this morning and have some ideas about the potential cause.

I think the issue is related to hybrid tuners. We should be able to confirm this with a simple test. If you ungroup your tuners (by deleting "Hybrid 1") then restart the TV service, does timeshifting work?

MM, care to IM me for access?
Answer depends on the test result and my time availability this evening. If the test result confirms that the problem is only with hybrid tuners then I may be able to reproduce the problem locally (ie. no need for access).

    MM,
That worked... Here are the logs.
Would you like me to upgrade to 1.4 2.1?
It appears the 2.0 and 2.1 are the same except for 1 file... tswriter
All other file timestamps and size are the same

Right - that definitely narrows things down. I'll need to install the patch locally and figure out what is going on.

You're right, the only difference is the TsWriter.
    Quote from the first post:
Update 14 July 2013, 11:25am NZST: add patch v2.1, various bugs with ATSC and clear QAM scanning fixed thanks breese!

So the TsWriter in v2.1 of the patch was meant to be equivalent to the one you had been testing. In other words, it should make no difference for you... and it won't fix the issue with hybrid cards. I'll be looking to release a v2.2 on the weekend assuming I can fix the hybrid thing.

@PABeaver any comments on the tuner locking. I still haven't heard back from Jason at Silicondust.

    @breese
The attached files should fix the hybrid tuner tuning/recording issue. Could you please double check them for me. If they work I'll post a new version of the patch. :)
