Is there an up-to-date GIT branch for this?
    Yep. :)
    For MP1, EXP-CableCARD_UPNP.
    https://github.com/MediaPortal/MediaPortal-1/tree/EXP-CableCARD_UPnP
For the included MP2 libs, FIX_UPnP.
    https://github.com/MediaPortal/MediaPortal-2/tree/FIX_UPnP

Note that you'll not be able to build an installer from the MP1 branch as I haven't included the MP2 libs in the MP1 repo. On that front, georgius' IPTV filter probably also requires installation script updates, and the binaries need to be removed from the repo. I need some help with this - dealing with the installer is not something I'm very familiar with.

I guess this is a priority then. Who do you think can help with this?

    Probably the usual suspect.
I've just had a quick look at the NSI script and I can see references to the IPTV filter, so I guess only the MP2 libs need to be added. Shouldn't be too hard... I hope. I'll try and see if I can learn how to do this... :)

@chefkoch: could we create a NuGet package for the library, after I merged the fixes? I think this could be a good way for sharing components.
sure, but we need kind of a concept how to deploy test versions. Packages for the releases is not a problem, but what if mm created a new branch with some fixes and would like to include this into it's own repo as nuget packages?

Creating "pre-release" / "unstable" packages from latest dev state and uploading them to our official nuget feed is possible and no problem of course, but releases of packages which are in their own branches should not go to this feed, as versioning is difficult / more complex this way. (maybe hosting a separated NuGet-feed at myget could be a solution for such branch releases)

I will prepare the nuget package specifications for the MP2 core files first so that we are able to upload packages for releases and "pre-release" versions from dev-branch to the official nuget feed. Everything else can be sorted out later.

The implementation of this package in the TVE or MP1 build process needs to be done by someone else, especially the NSIS code won't be touched by me. I don't understand how the dev workflow for TVE35 is working. Who is reviewing and merging branches etc...

After I overwrite the files in the TV server folder with those from MP1.4 ver. 2.2 I get the attached error when trying to start TVSetup.

The main issue appears to be:
    error.jpg

When I revert to the original TV server files from the clean MP1.4 install the TV server service starts and the GUI appears.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
