    Hello and welcome MikeR25 :)

Basically what FreakyJ said is correct. We need a bit more detail than what you've given us in order to be able to help. :)
Having said that, my hunch would be that one or more of the files were not replaced correctly.
There are instructions in the first post that tell you how to grab the info we're looking for.

    Thanks MikeR25
I did see the screenshot, but unfortunately it really doesn't help me figure out the problem.

I presume you have the same problems with v2.0 and v2.1 of the patch?
Has anybody else tried or had problems with v2.2 of the patch?

To grab the log files, please open windows explorer and paste c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log\ into the address bar, then zip up and post the files in that folder.

    Thanks,
    mm
    :)

    Thanks :)
First, I assume the patch is compatible with the XBMC plugin but I don't know for sure.
It looks like the service is running fine, but critical standard config file(s) are missing:
[2013-07-26 22:33:31,626] [Log ] [4 ] [ERROR] - Exception :confused:ystem.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: .Config file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TVService.config' cannot be read successfully due to exception 'System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The system cannot find the file specified. I wonder if you deleted them by mistake when applying the patch.
I've attached the config files you might be missing. Please download and copy them into your TV Server install folder, then restart the TV service and see if you can open TV Server configuration after that.

@PABeaver any comments on the tuner locking. I still haven't heard back from Jason at Silicondust.

Sorry for the big delay, I was at work late all week. I updated the DLL file as you specified and tested again. Unfortunately, I got the same results with the tuners still locked after stopping timeshifting and Media Center not able to use the tuners. I also stopped the MP TV service as you suggested and it did not help as I still have to unplug the unit to get it to release the tuners.

I again wonder if I did something wrong during the original installation especially if you have not heard any feedback from other HDHR prime owners. I might do a fresh install if I have some time this weekend and see if that makes any difference. Here's my logs from the test today that I did at 1:00pm.

Thanks for taking the time to test PABeaver (y)
I heard back from Jason at Silicondust and he seems to think there is no problem with the timing and order of the interaction with the tuner. Rather, he thinks that we are failing to shut down streaming properly, and that this would only be observed if a firewall is running.

So... at this point I'd say:
    • thanks again for bringing the issue to our attention
    • there is nothing wrong with your setup or configuration
    • in terms of testing, at this stage there is nothing further you can do that would be meaningful
    • I need to find some time to investigate, and work with Jason to resolve the issue
    • once I have a resolution I will post a patch here for testing
The only thing I'm wondering is whether you are in fact running a firewall and whether turning it off changes the result as Jason says it should.

No problem! I like contributing in the small way that I can.

That did it! :D I turned the Windows Firewall off, started time-shifting, waited, stopped time-shifting and immediately the tuner light started blinking green and after maybe 10 seconds turned off. The HDHR unit web program says that the tuner is not in use. Hooray!

Thanks for sticking with it to find the cause of the problem. :) I am hoping that the fix is simple.
