[ERROR] - Exception: System.FormatException: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.
Localization issue where MP expectes the date in some format but it is in another depending on the Windows settings of Language Date/Time/Region. Should be an easy fix. Need to find out how your string looks like, therefore I add some debug code in the exception that outputs the string. Once I see it I can convert it with the appropriate CultureInfo.

What would help here would be the language settings of your windows and all the Region/Format stuff, so I can reproduce. You know the stuff, where you can define how currency, dates, time, numbers look like. Screenshot is probably the simplest way of providing this information.

And also if i move mp windowed between 2 screens quite quiclky (it's hard to explain) i have the mouse not staying on MP :
Yes, there are some glitches I could not fix yet. I did my best to keep them under control, but there are some left here. Out of scope for this work as I don't consider it a show stopper. But windowed mode needs some more work without question.

If i want to put MP in fullscreen (alt+enter) i have strange behaviour, it remove around bar (where is display Mediaportal and you know X (close) _ (Reduce).
Screenshot please.

If i maximize MP Windows -> Alt-enter give strange result too.
You mean maximizing and then hitting Alt-Enter? Screeshot plese.

Maybe all of this is related because 'Starting Plugins' stay open.
I run MP without Plugin so that strange (i run it from \mediaportal\MediaPortal.Application\bin\Release).
That is interesting. The splashscreen stays open? I know there are some liminitations inside the MP code when you do this. Problem is I cannot reproduce it. Could you provide me this the logs when this happens?

Sorry Scythe for this :) i'm a bug man lol
That's cool. I like bugs being identified.

It seems that the font is not 'clear' as 1.3Final (i just see that diff in mymusic section when i made testing for Music Rework branch).
Dpn't understand. Can you elaborate a bit more please? Screenshot of what is wrong should help.

Here we go :)
Some information, it happen if mp is not on TOP/LEFT on Screen (if MP windowed position is set on TOP/LEFT screen, ALT+ENTER switch between Windowed/Fullscreen)

If MP Windowed is somewhere on screen (the border is removed when using ALT+ENTER)

Here we can say it can be normal (i expect ALT + ENTER to switch between windows and fullscreen for sure and it happen but only on TOP/LEFT position).

Screenshot attached :)
Thanks.

There is the screenshot that after do maximized MP didn't go on whole screen (like it keep ratio), i do it on first screen.

Now if i try to do it on my second screen, MP disappear (no more windows and no in systray) to make it appear, i need to click on MP in taskbar and now it appear on systray. (i just do log for this sequence 'MediaPortal_maximize_on_second_screen.zip')

OK, let's take a step back. I really appreciate all the screenshots, but they do not show me what I need to know.

Let's start with some basic information:
- Do you use more than one screen?
- If so how they are positioned and which resolution do they have?
- On which one runs MP?
- Which one is set as the primary one in Windows?
- What skin do you use and for what resolution is it designed (e.g. 720p or 1080p)?
- Do you start MP up in windowed mode or fullscreen mode?
- Do you use the screen selector?
- Full logs please.

Reproduce the issue one time and exit MP afterwards. I can see from the logs what messages where send by windows. Between each action you do, wait a few seconds so I see the pause in the logs. Reproduce only one issue per log.

We need to deal with this one by one. It will have a single root cause, I am sure of it. And it will be a simple one. I really appreciate your help but we need to keep it a bit more organized.

When providing screenshots when MP is the wrong resolution I need to see the whole Desktop. Just showing that MP is in wrong resolution does not help at all. Just hit Print-Screen that takes capture of the whole desktop and upload that one.

Regarding the date: Thanks, I set up my Windows the same way and should be able to reproduce.

I made some tests regarding the muting issue.

What I have mentioned:
In Video and music section of MePo there are different audio renderer listed. Is this ok?
renderer_music_section.png renderer_video_section.png

Scenario:
All renderers are set to AMD-HDMI audio, nothing is set to default renderer.
An application that is configured to prevent MePo to go to standby is running in the background and I press the power button on my htpc twice.
First press: no picture anymore and no sound it could be the away mode of windows.
second press: picture comes back, sound stays muted.

I have done three tests.
First: analog output is the default sound device
second: hdmi output is the default sound device
third: analog sound output is disabled
I have also tested with GUI sound on and off. That does not make a difference.

I have added logs and a screenshot of the windows volume sliders after the second press of the power button.

Regarding the PS issue:
I totally forgot that I'm using a brach from @Sebastiii to test his MySQL 5.6 implementation. And have installed your binaries on top of this. Is it possible that there is another PS in sebastiiis build? Is it possible to attach the PS dll that is working for you? This can clarify this question.[DOUBLEPOST=1365836279][/DOUBLEPOST]This is my PS-Version:

Long outstanding bug in configuration.exe it lists the devices twice. But this has no impact.

First: analog output is the default sound device
second: hdmi output is the default sound device
third: analog sound output is disabled
Thank you. Did not see anything in logs. That means, what ever goes wrong is not logged in any way. They don't help here at the moment.

So, regardless what your default direct sound device in Windows is the HDMI output will always been shown as muted, right?

As this is the Audio Device you selected in MP, we are sure that this is something MP did wrong. Good, we have leave out Windows config issues or that MP had a wrong device.

Skin Sound Effects or not have no impact, also good to know, we can ignore this as well.

So can you do the following test for me (no logs needed!):
• When MP after resuming is mute and you playback a movie, are you able to unmute it by pressing "m" or -/+ to control the volume? Does the Volume OSD shows?
Also when you resumed and sound is muted could you check right away for the following in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\Mediaportal.xml:

Code:

4

0

yes

0, 4095, 8191, 12287, 16383, 20479, 24575, 28671, 32767, 36863, 40959, 45055, 49151, 53247, 57343, 61439, 65535

52428

yes

53247

Focus on the "lastknown" keyword. Just search for it.

The Volume Handler itself safes it's last known volume to MediaPortal.xml when we dispose the object. But when the object is disposed during loss of the audio device the mixer object might returl "null" as a value and therefore muting sound instead of return the last known volume MP was set to.

Let me know how it turns out.
