it's a shame the error was never picked up earlier as it might be just a matter of comparing two sets of code

does it work with channels >100FM?

No not the only station it picked up was a non-existant one. As I said it did play static. I tried to change the frequency within TV server but that didnt work either. And only did this on my second analogue tuner as well.

underclock the gpu core, if it gets worse then it's might be gpu related. the other thing that is GPU related is to try changing the HT speed which effects the shared memory
I've got some interesting results. It doesn't appear to be GPU related.
While I have the Shift+1 display showing, there is never any stuttering! It's smooth as a babies bottom permanently. As soon as I stop the Shift+1 display, the stuttering starts again every so often. If I switch it on while the stuttering is occuring, the Act fps is well below 50 and the red line in the graph is all over the place.

It also doesn't appear to occur while viewing the channel in the main TV guide window where it's around 25% of full screen.

It sounds like a bug in MP 1.1. Do you think it's worth opening a bug report?

    Ross.

rlevis - yes, but i doubt anything will come of it and it may just be related to your onboard video being borderline.

littlematt - i would go for SAF5.0 , you may get stuttering on TV3 bc your video card is borderline, however it might be ok at 1280x720.

Was using Nova-T-500_4_3_25080_WHQL just downloaded Nova-T-500_4_3_27240_WHQ but do not have MP 1.1.0 RC5 installed yet still on 1.0.2 but will give it a go in the next few days.

I have upgraded to the Final of Mp1 and things are still really sloooow.
Slow to startup tv and slow channel changes . Things were good on MP 1.0.2 , what has changed.

    Any Idea's im stuck :(

Pretty sure my Hardware is fine to run ( I have also done a re-install)
    Dual Core 5200+ Cpu
    PCI-e 8600gt videocard
    2gb DDR2 800 Ram
    Nova T 500
    Asus M2N68-VM Motherboard

Yeah, I didn't see any real advantage after upgrading. What have they been working on for the last 12 months?

My main reasons for upgrading were in the hope these would be fixed...

A major memory leak. I got around this my scheduling a reboot at 5am every morning. The jury is still out on whether that's been fixed that as I've been fiddling with settings and restarting MP lately.

The Music Player was crashing MP occasionally between songs when using a winamp DSP plugin. Unfortunately this hasn't been fixed, and crashed on me yesterday.

I was hoping to use %classificaton% in a skin to see whether a program is PG or AO etc, but this still doesn't appear to work, when importing the epg via xmltv.

It's actually worse on the SD 576i channels, so it's not the power of the GPU that's the problem for me.

I just changed a setting in the Catalyst Control Center which appears to have resolved it! Under the Video Settings heading, it's called "Enforce Smooth Video Playback". This was enabled. I disabled it, and everything appears fine now. I noticed the Shift+1 display shows the Act fps staying basically constant within 0.001 fps. Previously it was jumping around perhaps 0.5 fps. I think perhaps MP and CCC were fighting each other in some way when this option was enabled.

So i guess im in the mood for breaking things :)

Ive been running v1.0.2 for a while now in a server/client configuration and had nothing but an exceptional experience. I'm not using 4TheRecord, but I am using TV series and moving pictures plugins and everything just works reliably all the time. I have backups scheduled for Tuesday mornings on the server to backup the Database and then I do a restart. This keeps the server running smoothly. I don't think I really need the restart but old habits die hard.

So the question is this. What will I get from Upgrading to V2 or should I just stick to what I have at the moment considering how stable it is?

dvbkiwi - Can you describe your backup system

Do you back up the database/thumbs directory and restore an older image then copy the database files back each week? is that what you mean? - Sounds like a clever idea to keep things running fresh..

I don't restore an original Directory, Instead I just perform a backup and keep the last 10 weeks so that I can go back to any Tuesday during that time. I use Winzip command line utility to backup my whole MP folder and the whole MySQL folder into zip files. I have 2 different backup files, One will do the backup and restart the services, The other does the same but performs a reboot instead.

My MediaPortal installation is on the C: Drive, My backup is made to the E: drive

    REM# net start TVService

REM# Restart Server in 60 Secs

Being a little paranoid, I also have other tools to backup my movies and music once a month to a different server in the house and have a manual backup of my client computers so that I don't have to re-import the moving pictures database in the event of a failure.
