    Is the creation of XML files optional and now disabled by default?
    No, definitely not.

    The files you recorded should have had XML files created with them in the C: drive location. You need to put those files in the same folders as each of the corresponding recordings on the D: drive. The names of the TS and XML files must also match (excluding extension). If those conditions are met then you should be able to re-import the recordings that you had to move...

    [Edit: mmmmm, good question kiwi...]

    There were no XML files, and I've not seen any XML files for any recordings for the last 18 months. Just checked a program recorded earlier today and just a ts file, no XML. Not using FTR. Any ideas?

    I gotta admit this one has me puzzled - I always get XML files. I'll have to check the code this evening when it is possible to search for "xml" because I can't seem to find the code that is responsible for this right at the moment...

    I thought it was normal to not have XML files these days. So there must be a problem somewhere. Let me know if you need anything from my end.

    Cheers.

    Hi Ross

    It looks like it used to be possible to turn the XML file creation off, however that option was removed in ~July 2009 and the code should now *always* create the XML files. There is a possibility that if you turned it off before the setting was removed then the old setting value is still used. Are you able to check the contents of your database? If so, could you run the following query...

    Code:
    SELECT value FROM setting WHERE tag = 'createtaginfoxml';

    Hi mm,

    Thanks for your reply. Yes had followed the instructions on both that page and the one in the New Zealand localization area. Have actually sorted it now for some reason the hauppauge blaster was playing up and only working sometimes. Reinstalled the drivers and all good now fingers crossed. ha ha. Hey whenever you get a chance about the pinnacle card will be most appreciated.

    I have no idea how to access the database. I haven't done much with databases before. How would I go about doing that? or could I send you some files for you to look at?

    Hmmm, I'm not sure whether sending me the files would work. It might - I've just never tried it. MySQL Workbench is the tool you'd use if you do this yourself. Its not too complicated to use, and there are plenty of tutorials out there. I'm about to go to bed but I'd encourage you to try Workbench though when you have half an hour and see if you can get the query to run...

    Got Workbench loaded. The value is "no" and I guess it needs to be "yes". I can't seem to work out how to change it.
