Well.. That's frustrating. I wasn't really sold on the analog part of the card it was the satellite/terrestrial capability. I was considering the cheaper skystar card that every one seems to recommend also.

Just out of interest, is there any milage in not using tvserver, but instead using the built in MP client? Or is that not a good idea?

Any ideas on why MP won't keep the myTV plugin enabled?

Michael, the HVR4000 work just fine on the digital side of things. It should work great with the test transmissions out of Auckland if you can see the DVB-T transmitters. Its just the analog that is no good. Of course, the card is also great for the satellite transmissions also. I use it with my SKY disk sharing that with a SKY STB. So the card is a very useful piece of kit for DVB reception.

TV Server is a better option in my opinion. Using the TV Server you can record all the channels using the same transponder at the same time. You cannot do that with the built in TV engine i.e. TVE2. So if you want to record TV1and TV2 at the same time, that can be done with just a single tuner card. Of course, if you want to record TV1 and TV3 together you need two tuners because TV3 and C4 are on a different transponder to TV1, 2 and TV6.

Not sure what's happening to your plugin though. Probably need more information.

Bleazle: My understanding was that Prime was going onto the terrestial digital platform next year. But its owned now by SKY so I would not hold my breath. Its encoded on the satellite yet its supposed to be FTA so its anyone's guess what will happen.

I have been using a FloppyDVT s/CI card from www.digital-everywhere.com which I purchased from them online. It uses a card position but does not actually need to plug into a slot. There are pieces of board on it (check the picture in the URL page listed below) which plug into a card slot but if nothing lines up one other or both can be snapped off and it is retained in place by the screw at the back of PC box. It connects and gets its power through the 1394 connection.

It should work great with the test transmissions out of Auckland if you can see the DVB-T transmitters.

Is there a test running yet??? WHERE? HOW? WHAT? I can't wait to see what the h.264 looks like and I've got a DVB-T card sitting in my media pc for that last 9months that my Bro in law from Auz gave me.

Ummm mcraenz - now you have me thinking. I am sure I read some recent threads on geekzone suggesting that there were some DVB-T tests in Auckland, but I cannot find the thread now. One thread had a link to the channels being used i.e. http://www.rsm.govt.nz/cms/policy-a...asting/digital-television-2007-frequency-plan and I saw a reference to the Wellington tests (although they appear to be sporadic). I have not been able to receive the Wellington tests - but that could be my location.

Auckland looks like its based around Waiatarua channels 29,33 and 45.

Hey Guys , just i little problem iv started to have
When i watch any thing in full screen the screen goes black, but i still have Audio
I have a feeling iv stuffed somthing up in the settings but i have no idea what

No i havnt changed my cropping settings
eg - tv works in its small window, but when i go to full screen it gose black, same with my videos

Oh and i got my Dish and dual LNB to day (from Trade me)
so if you never hear from me again iv fallen off the roof trying to put it up
