Yes I have System Restore, but that did not help. I went back to the 5th November with no change at all. I uninstalled the new version of VideoRedo that I had loaded last week and what seemed to lead the problems but I still have TSReader and TSFilesource generating a divide by zero error whilst creating the DShow graph.

Interestingly, I was able to play a TS file before installing the TVE3 Client Plugin. After that though - no go!

I am counting the hair on my head - and its reducing at an alarming rate and the moment...

Well its getting marginally better, now the error log reports that it cannot open the stream rather than a DirectSHow error i.e.

Iv Just Built a HTPC to run on my 47' LCD and am using media portal
at the moment i just have a PVR 150 , but im looking at Updating to Satellite
I was wondering if any one has any tips on what dish size and what lbn to get
and what dvb card to get
any tips would be a big help thanks

I use 2xTechnisat Skystar 2 sat cards and I'm very happy with them. I had no idea what I was doing when I went from an analogue Media Centre set-up to digital/Media Portal and Martin (the guy who sells these cards on Trademe) spent a lot of time emailing me and telling me what to do - Highly recommended!! (don't forget to get 2 cards so that you can record multiple channels if required).

DrLurch, Dish size depends on that you want to pick up, for just freeview stuff (Optus D1) a 60CM dish will be fine if you want a multi LNB setup check out my setup(links below). As far as the LNB it self goes I'd recommend a sharp brand ex sky one. Should be able to get one off trademe for around$20. Very reliable!

DVB-S card: If you've got plenty of PCI slots I recommend not getting a hybrid card. You've already got a analog card, if you a single DVB-S card now and a single DVB-T card later you''ll have a pretty sweet setup. The reason I recommend against hybrid cards is that while they do everything (DVB-S, DVB-T, Analog) they normally don't do all these at the same time, so you can't watch an analog channel while recording a sat channel. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this.)

I'd recommend a Technisat SkyStar2, I've also got a technotrend S1500 card which has been very reliable. I think that there are quite a few people in NZ using Hauppauge Nova-S Plus cards which I think are pretty well supported.
If you've only got a couple of PCI slots then a hybrid might be your best bet.

just another small issue ( i havnt looked very hard into it yet)
on the pvr 150 i can get 1,2,3 and c4 but not prime or sky, whats he deal there?

Crap reception?? you should be able to get Prime - can you get it using the TV itself? - you'll need to keep the PVR 150 if you want to be able to watch/record Prime because it isn't available digitally.
