Hi i have a Hauppauge HVR 4000 and am trying to get media portal setup,
I first tried to get it setup with Tv Server and mediaportal client plugin with no success, I followed the guide provided by mcraenz. I think this may have been to do with the sattellites.xml and freeview.ini files which may be incorrect i am prepared to try this approach again. Then i tried just the media portal approach and have managed to get that setup for freeview (DVB-S) but not analogue or fm radio. Following the guide herehttp://www.geekzone.co.nz/Regs/3769 When attempting to add analogue portion of this card media portal states an unable to create graph error and then shows no autotune tab.
Anyone who has this card working in new zealand with freeview and analogue and can help it would be much appreciated, it would be nice to get it working in tv server as this seems to have more features.
Thanks

hi, i have 2 hauppauge 4000 cards, i find that the analogue does not work in media portal, so if you want an analogue feed, then get a hauppauge 150 card or 300

but the 4000 card is great it works with dvb-t so should work great with the new free-view coming out,

if you can get tv server working, use it, as it is a lot better, and you can view all channels on the same transponder,
    thats y i have 2 cards, because free-view dvb-t has 2 transponders so i can view/rec every channel on free-view dvb-s @ once :)

Thanks for the advice i presume you have managed to set up tv server with your 2 hvr 4000's any help would be appreciated. For example what versions are you using and what satellites.xml and freeview.ini files are you using, every time i try and scan with what i think it correct it comes up with no channels found!
I guess i don't really need the analogue function working but it would be nice to hook up sky to it aswell so perhaps i will invest in a hardware decoder card as you suggest.

    Thanks

if you have the right transponder and sr, then it could be ur lnb settings, check they are right for ur lnb
    here are my settings:
    http://handya.googlepages.com/MP-Freeviewsettings.zip
download this file, and copy both of the files into "Tuningparameters" folder, then open the settings and sellect "FreeView" under the satellite settings,

Have put the files provided into the correct folder and tried scanning but still nothing, which really only leaves the lnb settings i have tried every combination i can think of with no success even though they have worked in just media portal by itself. What is the best way to find the numbers needed for the lnb settings, have tried looking at sky tv settings on decoder but seems there are lots and the names dont match up with the ones used in media portal, i have a recently fitted dual throat sky tv lnb oval shaped.
    Thanks

    Do the following:
    1.Start>All Programs>MediaPortal>TV Server Logs
    2.Start mediaportal tv Server config
3.Set you lnb settings and Get ready to scan
4.Go to the window that shows the log files delete all log files
    5.Do the scan
6.Attach the newly created log files to you next post. I'm sure then we'll be able to see what the problem is :)

    cheers,
    mcraenz

make sure you have clicked "override default lnb frequencies", i am using the sam lnb as you i think, i have the dual sky one. if that helps

i have also had this problem once b4, i think i fixed it buy reinstalling the tv card in a different pci slot, or just reinstalling the drivers!

Will also try reinstalling the drivers now to see if that helps

Have reinstalled drivers and media portal and still no luck, would be difficult to switch pci slots as i have only 2 and both are full and switching the 2 round would cause space issues in my computer

    Multiple Skystar2 cards

    Hi all

Ive basically got a new Mediaportal TVe3 working, but not quite :)

Have setup 2 x Skystar2 cards and a PVR150 in the machine. Using the Technisat2 Setup4PC, both DVBs cards exist and receive a signal and can be viewed using the viewer.

However Mediaportal only shows one DVBs. If I can scan with the dish plugged into one, nothing, but a scan on the other brings in all the channels. Should Mediaportal actualy show both? Im guessing it should.

I havent used the Beta driver (have downloaded it) but wondered if there is something that is needed to get them both displaying. From what Ive read in the Wiki, Skystar2 cards are the only ones allowing multiple cards in a single machine.
