@ DRlurch - check the ip address being used by the Tv server and that used by the MP frontend, if different then possibly the cause. You should post logs and create a separate thread as this is hardly an NZ specific issue.

A similar fault happened to mine at the start of the week. It got worse with Mediaportal refusing to start (corrupted xml?). There wasn't much help out there in the forums for it so I ended up uninstalling TV server and Mediaportal then installed the latest builds of TV server and SVN.

All is sweet now.

DRlurch, was your build of TV server dated around 20 December 07?

Another thing too I noticed yesterday when installing TV server, DON"T update the satellites list. You will end up with only get the european satellites (the rest fail and their corresponding INI files disappeared or were corrupted). Do a scan without updating and all is good (took me about 3 installs before I found out what was happening).

 Sorry if this should be in a different thread but I did find that the default INI file for the D1 satellite in the latest build is now good to go from first install :)

handya: I don't have the system for it, but I think Cyberlink PowerDVD7HD or CoreAVC.

Is anyone else having any trouble with TV3 or C4?

    Speed expectations

    Hi All,

I have been fiddling around with my MP installation to try to improve TV startup and channel change speeds. I have been playing with BDA vs WDM drivers, and even switched back to standard MP (but I missed TVEngine features too much...)
Before I spend any more time on it, I just want to get an idea of what's the best I can expect. Does anyone here, with any hardware, get near-instantaneous channel changing & TV startup? Or is the speed lag an inherent part of the architecture of MP? It takes my system around 10 seconds to startup & change channel, which really brings down the WAF (which is a shame as she loves it otherwise).
    Thanks,
    Darren.

You mean the picture is freezing when trying to change to those channels?

That's what I having issues with at present.

Funny thing is that I can still record to view later even though the video freezes when I change to it.

Is anyone else having any trouble with TV3 or C4?

That's exactly what I came on here to find out! I just set up MediaPortal and server on my main PC (I've moved house and they have Sky in the lounge so I let myself have Freeview in the bedroom). Just got it all hooked up today but noticed that TV3 and C4 were freezing, but none of the other channels on that transponder were. Odd.

I deleted them and rescanned, but it didn't help. Sometimes I'd get a really stuttery image but no sound, but usually it is just a frozen image.

Oh, using yesterdays SVN builds. Good to know others are experiencing the same issue (as in, at least my setup isn't broken).

I can confirm, TV3/C4 work only when watching previously recorded stuff, but not live TV. Very strange considering they are almost exactly the same.

    Exact same problem I had.
I've rolled everything MP/TVServer/TVPlug-in back to 16539 because I've been having quite a few issues lately, broken recordings lots of hangs changing channels / cards. WAF is falling fast and to be honest HAF is getting pretty low too! I *think* these issues stem from work that is being done on the TSWriter filter which I believe Gemx is working on so hopefully things will improve soon!

I've found 16539 to be ok, this is also just before the change from tsfilesource to tsreader. I don't think you can get the binaries for it any more I SVN'd it and compiled it my self. If you want to get it off me let me know.
