In my log directory, I have a file called

install_1.1.7.0_2011-05-04_18-32-19.log

which tells me I at least tried to install version 1.1.7 (which is 1.2.0beta) on 4th May 2011 at 18:32 pm.

You should have a similar file, most probably in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log

Is your current install to a different path? Are you doing an update or clean install?

Edit: what is the name of the file you are trying to install?

Mark

I'm trying to do an update from 1.2.0 Alpha.
This time I got a new default skin (new blue color), so it seems I got one step closer.
However, I still can not update my plugins from the mpeinstalller. Will try the download page for plugins that was linked to before in a moment

Do you want me to continue in this thread, or shall I create a new one?

    May as well continue here.

Don't arse about with installing plugins. Just check the version number of MediaPortal. It should be 1.1.7, as you have been told several times. If you are not sure how to check, post the logs.

This time it seems to have worked :)

I managed to install online videos via the compatible plugin page :)

    New log file after installation

LiveTV seems to work much better now, thanks! :)

Good. You have 1.1.7 installed. However, I am not sure your TV server update is okay.

    You have

    tvserver_install_1.1.6.0_2011-05-07_17-43-50.log

    whereas I have

    install_1.1.7.0_2011-04-29_9-16-03.log (not using log collector).

Your TVPlugin.dll (according to the log) is 1.1.7, so this is good.

Where did you download 1.2.0beta from? There was a bit of confusion about version numbers, and at one point we had 1.1.6 and 1.1.7. Actually, thinking about it, I might have a slightly newer version, so maybe this is okay.

Can you check the version number for the TVService file?

Also, do the other plugins install correctly?

I downloaded the file from Download MediaPortal from SourceForge.net

    TvService is 1.1.7.0

Yes, all the plugins installed correctly :)

    Excellent.

Well, I have no idea how the install failed before, but unless you can reproduce the problem, we have to leave things as 'no bug' since there is nothing in the information you have provided which gives the team anything to go on.
