Ok - I'm not a developer, but isn't there any way to look in the original code (the included software)? I'm just thinking... Or will you need the actual source code?

Is there any CI modules that are supported, which are using similar components as this CI?...

I don't understand why Terratec don't want to help their customers..?

AW: Can someone help to create a CI Menu for the Terratec Cinergy C HD + CI?

hehe, if you take a look at the last view pages you will see that we tried to figure it out on the base of their software, but this isn't as easy as it sounds^^
The point is that the Terratec Card is a Twinhan card with some modifications from Terratec and there is no documentation available, some things work fine, some don't.

Is there any CI modules that are supported, which are using similar components as this CI?...
Doesn't matter, you need the commands between Driver and Software ;)

I don't understand why Terratec don't want to help their customers..?
    Because they are stupid oO

Any progress on creating Ci support for Terratec PCI HD?

Quote: "I wrote an email two months ago...." "...still no reply"

Well After bying one Terratec PCI cinergy card and 2 Teratec h7 usb cards in the last two monts, Im really angry with the way they treat their customers. Terratecs products doesnt deliver. No forum on their website either.... just phone support.

I wrote them an "angry" mail complaining on the fact that they is not serving me - the customer - when having to pay even more for support on their faulty products. (I cant tune to any channels with their accompanying software)

In the lack of a forum to adress, I sent the email to the webmaster with cc to all of the press release contacts on their website. Got an answer 2 days afterwords. :)
But the answer was only a stupid web schema with a ton of techincal questions - not an direct answer to my already stated questions!!!

Have been testing even more lately - with more OS variants to be sure... No I am....
I cant watch tv with Terratec products.
I think there must be an advertising rule about this Terratec scam - Watc Tv on Your PC!; they advertice their products with. What a rip off. Must be violating the markeitng laws - their products doesnt deliver on their chosen selling point. Thats fraud as far as Im concerned.

Whats funny though is that their faulty product, awesome customer loyality consern and total lack of managing their brand assets and value for their shareholders in the long term, made me seek for third party solutions - and I found Mediaportal :) But cant get none of the cards to work in MP either. (See this tread)

I will help request api support for both the Cinergy PCI HD and the Terrratec H7.
Sorry to say, but I dont think Ill make any difference.

The more I think of it all and the more I think of all my countless hours trying to use their products, im considering posting my personal experiences with their products to all the resellers.
It shouldnt be "rocket science" to understand that Terratec is ruining a vast potensial marketshare by neglecting the innovators in the market. And yes Im thinking of us the MP users - and You the MP developers.

I had a very positive experience with my Terratec Cinergy C HD card a couple of days ago after updating to the recent drivers (v1.01.02.501) and finally all the stutters and artifacts which have been this cards plague have dissappeared, so I'm really happy for that. Up until now I was forced to use some really old drivers since with the newer ones did not manage to get MP to work at all.
I haven't used the CI addon yet but I'm now heavily considering to order some pay-tv HD channels linked with the CI v1 module my operator rents with the tv card. After having stumbled onto this discussion I'm wondering if I will be able to watch the encrypted HD channels with this card, can anyone confirm this to be a working solution? :D

    ogir_xx,
I have also tried bombarding Terratec with e-mail with a request for API for the H7. I have not gotten ANY response! :(

My H7 workes quite fine besides the lack of "native" multi-channel decoding. I have that though with the fix that mm1352000 has supplied.

I have some issues with my H7 but I am waiting for the next MP version to se if some issues are resolved. I am also thinking of buying the Anysee DVB-T2 tuner, but I am unsure if it would work any better... The H7 was not my best buy it was my only choice at that time.

AW: Can someone help to create a CI Menu for the Terratec Cinergy C HD + CI?

    Hey everybody =)

Nice to hear that there is some interest of other people, too =)

I think I can answer some questions to the Cingery C HD:

    1. Can I watch multiple channels on one transponder? - With the patch from here, yes, otherwise no!
    2. Can I watch encrypted channels? - yes
    3. Can I use the CI Menu? - No

And we need the API mainly for the CI Menu ;)

If I have forgotten something, just ask :p

    Hello everybody.

Sorry if I might mix things up in the same thread - but I guess writing about both the terratec PCi HD and the H7 usb is ok.

    First:
The fix for Cinergy PCI and H7 USB from mm1352000 is the files in this post? link to post # 63 - Right?

Will try it as soon as possible:)

    Second etc...:
Im trying to understand why I can tune to all channels, but cant view my FTA channels with the Terratec H7.

It looks like MP tv server registers that the h7 has an inbuilt cam module and uses it regardles if I mark the tuner as a 'no cam module' supported tuner in my tvserver.setup. But shouldnt it be possible to use the card without the cam (by editing the videocard settings in tvserver setup)? - Melstig, are you able to see the FTA channles without the patch?

I tune using the dvb-c tuner of the terratedc H7. And regardles if I activate both the dvb-c and the dvb-t or only one of them in tvserver.setup i always get the "unable to start graph" meesage and the "waiting for PMT" error in my logfiles.

If MP tv server disregards the cam settings in tvserver setuop and registers and uses the cam anyway, it may explain my errors when trying to watch TV; "unable to start graph" and the errors in the tv server.log; timeout "waiting for PMT".

In other words MP works in a way that when using cards with CI modules, the CI modules must be supportetd regardles of using them to watch only FTA channels? - Sorry thinking aloud here.... Motionaddict (hi) You are able to tune to the Free to air channels without having a Cam and smartcard in the CI sllot on the Cinergy PCI? IF so my assuming on how MP uses the CI must be wrong, or not? If you are able to watch the free to air channels without the cam and card in the ci module is that with the Ci module attatched to the TV card or not attatched?

Eager to hear your answers and comments!

Will try to test the patch during the weekend - keep You informed :)

    BTW:
have found that both my cinergy PCI HD and my terratec H7 is working like a charm in DVBviwer. On the same machine im having trouble with the cards in MP and in Terratecs own software shipped with the cards.

A last thought: because of the crappy Terratec software i have not installed this on the current testing machine. Only the latest card drivers downloaded from the terratec ftp site.

Have you also installed their "TV-viewing software" or are you running with only the core card drivers? Maybe the software has some drivers nessesary to make the cards work regardless of viewing client? Well as I said, it works fine in DvBviwer so I asume that should be the case for MP also ?

This is driving me mad - nice hobby though :D

Have tried to install the patch from mm1352000.
NB - im currently on a machine with no pci so this test applies to the H7 only :)

When appliyng the patch I loose all my cards, all is registered but not available to edit (setting cam attributes) in the tv server setup.
Restarting Tvserver and looking on the logfiles - it seems that noen of the cards is recognized.

    Logfile attatched. :)

In my case the CI module is still in the box, I have used only the receiver card until now since I have not had any pay-tv channels. Thus also the CAM option has been disbled in the card settings.

FreakyJ, thanks for your answer. So if I understand correctly the CI menu is not mandatory to be able to watch encrypted HD channels with the CAM and smartcard in the CI-module, right? This definitely sounds like something I have to try... Thanks!

    Have a nice weekend, guys!

Thank You for Your info! Hope it all turns out well with descrambling paid channels.
In DBViwer I have successfully used the CI's in both my Terratec PCI HD and my h7 usb, with my Cam and card from my cableTV provider. So you can test Youtr cam and card there first just to get a 'proof of the cards and cams working'.

    mm1352000
First Thank You for Your effort making the Ci working with the Terratec PCI HD :)

As you probably have seen I have tested this patch also with the H7 after the message from mesltig about the patch giving native" multi-channel decoding to the h7. In other words working with H7.

But because of my problems with the patch im eager to know if the Cinergy PCI patch really is supposed to work for the H7 also?

Its my wifes birthday party this weekend - have been away far to long already ;)
