Hi all! I'm sure this has been asked before but here goes anyway. I just downloaded MP I really like it but i can't get it to play video files
do i need any certain codecs?

Hi
A good start is do download ffdshow, which includes codecs for most formats, such as divx, xvid, mpeg-4, h.264 and more.
If you need support for external subtitle files, try this one, Vobsub

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo.

I don't think so, because MP has no way of knowing at which timestamp the external player stopped playback.
Best way to achieve this would be to use an auto-resume feature in your external player itself. (MPC-HC can do that, I don't know about VLC)

Is it possible to enable MP to resume in an External Player, where it left off ?

OK....perhaps impatient of me I know, but went for a full reinstall....and now up and running once more.

Have used MP1.38 64 successfully since it's introduction.....now something has changed.
Video folders are still present.....but now...
I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC.
TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

After some time working seamlessly....have run into a brick wall with this!
Have tried switching from MadVr to EVR....and problem...
