"Multimedia Keys" as you call them should be handled by MP's General HID mapper.

Yes, but AFAIK MediaPortal currently wont let you map an action to multiple key presses.

For example, my remote acts as a generc HID device, yet when I press "PLAY" on the remote the key combination CONTROL+SHIFT+P is sent. MP will only see 'p' being pressed - which means that it is not recognized in the application.

If there is a way to get MP to recognize multiple key presses for an input, I would love to hear how!

In all honesty, I've been using autohotkey as a work around for my remote for over a year now and it works for my needs.

No rush at all. Im a very patient man. :D

desso64: for an easier way to reasign keys, just go into configuration > General > Keys and Sounds

It's actually ok once you get used to the layout. choose the action you want to change, click on the 'key' field and simply press the key on your keyboard.

Thanks for explaining. I found a passing reference to this here: https://www.team-mediaportal.com/wiki/display/MediaPortal1/HID%20Profiles which I had overlooked in the past. I would find it logical for a created custom profile to be automatically activated, but until that happens, I will try to create a wiki page for the current...

That could have been useful alternative to the CEC Remote, shame they stopped making the Harmony. I have not given up completely on the CEC Remote, there is an option to trigger putting the TV and AVR into standby when MP closes which I want to try, currently I do not have that enabled as it means both video and audio devices will be...

Hi This is a general question about OnX. I have been using the TvWishList plugin for a while and have recently updated (update install) from MP 1.36 x86 to 1.37 x86 and found there seemed to be no Onx menu in the TV guide. I then configured the onx.presets.xml file like I would normally do with updates or fresh installs, but still...

Last weekend, I uninstalled the entire mediaportal, the TV server, the Windows patches, and anything else that might be interfering. I made a backup of the plugin databases so I could restore them after the installation. Now everything works. I'm not exactly sure what was causing the problem, but now all the videos play perfectly again.

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...
