Hi,

been struggling with MP for a week now maybe more.

Completely wiped my system abnd installed drivers for devices.

Reinstalled MP and set up to Robbo100 guide which i feel is good.

I am attaching logs of errors.

This is driving me crazy, tried switching functions on and off. This is a basic setup and i am trying to get this going without EPG at the mo.

My spec is Vostro 230.

3.2 dual core processor
2GB ram
250GB HDD
6920 TBS tuner card for DBS-S2
Sapphire HD5440 hdmi out card. (not connected yet to tv for fresh install yet but i inkwo it works).

One thing i have tried is changing robbo100 settings for video codecs to LAV splitter for everything....no good.

PLEASE HELP me figure this thing out!!!

Could be a problem with DirectShow.

Since MP 1.2.3 has just been released, and has fixes in this area, I think the first thing you should do is update to 1.2.3. It should be pretty painless.

Are you using any modified files (DirectShowHelper.dll ?) from the forums, or do you just have the 'standard' install? Standard install is best at this point.

I didnt know a new version was released.
Do i uninstall the old version or install new one over the top?
Do you recommend robbo100 setup or for me to use lav filters?

You can do an update install - this should be fine.

I have to admit that I am not familiar with Robbo's guide, although I am sure it is good.

Personally I use LAV filters for everything, and they work great!

hmm exactly the same which is a shame....anything else showing in the logs or suggestions as to what will stop the error?

I think this is not directly a MP issue. You could try to reinstall .NET framework 3.5

Although I saw the same error on a log from another guy and he had to reinstall windows to fix it.

Hi thanks.
Well this is afresh install so wouldnt know what to do any different.
I think its related to graphics but not sure at this stage.
Thing is it did work on my first install. Then it stopped.
This is really bugging me that its so complex.
Any further help much appreciated.

can anyone give me information on what a basic codec setup is? I think it may be related to this area but i'm not sure.

This is really bugging me. Any assistance is greatly appreciated, i'd really like to get this working. Like i said it did seem to work when i first setup and i'm wondering if i had not installed LAV filters at this point.

Can i disable them easily or completely remove them? I cant check right now as i'm not at home.

Or is there a setup that is considered best within the LAV filters config? I've not really played with them other than default settings.
