    Hi
can anyone give me information on what a basic codec setup is? I think it may be related to this area but i'm not sure.

This is really bugging me. Any assistance is greatly appreciated, i'd really like to get this working. Like i said it did seem to work when i first setup and i'm wondering if i had not installed LAV filters at this point.

Can i disable them easily or completely remove them? I cant check right now as i'm not at home.

Or is there a setup that is considered best within the LAV filters config? I've not really played with them other than default settings.

Fill in your system settings on the forum (I think you need to go to your profile page) and then we will know what components are in your system. Different systems will have different optimal settings.

    Hi

i've upgraded my details as requested.

    PLEASE HELP!!

    We are trying.

I have looked at your logs a couple of times, and it looks as though you entered TV, then turned on BBC1 HD, and then changed to ITV1 HD. Is this correct?

Did BBC1 HD display fine (since this is the error that I highlighted in your logs)?

We need a detailed description that corresponds to the logs. Otherwise it is hard to know what is happening on your system.

Is this only a problem with HD channel?

I know you are. Sorry for being impatient.

    1. Enter TV.
    2. turn on any channel.
    3. Channel plays fine.
    4. Go to EPG and select another channel.
    5. Timer rotation goes around and around for maybe 10 seconds.
    6. Screen goes full sceen but doesn't jump to new channel, stays on the original one but is frozen screen.
    7. Must exit MP via escape and the X icon. (ie MP is has not actually crashed as i dont need ctrl alt del).
    8. Go back to TV and same happens again.

It is for any channel not just HD.

Thanks for the support, It really is appreciated.

Please post new logs, with SD channels, and note the time when you turn on TV (which channel) and the time when you change channel (again which channel).

Sometimes HD can be a problem, particularly with audio, so I want to rule that out first.

Just to let you know i have had a little play with the tv as you got my mind thinking when you mentioned audio.

If i switch in tv i can watch the channel selected and it has audio.
If i switch it off, then select another channel that also seems to work with audio.
Switching on and off seems to allow a channel change.
If i select an HD channel it seems to stutter with broken audio.

Then go back to an SD channel everything is fine.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

is anyone able to help me with this problem.

I've tried with LAV filters installed and removed and there is no improvment.

If some one could give me some pointers i'd love to try to solve this.

    Thanks.

First of all. Why do you use VRM9 Rendering if you have windows 7? Could you first try to set it to EVR in the configuration of MP.
Its in the "Codecs and Renderer" section, the last tab Video renderer.

If it's not changing anything you could also try this:
Could you have a look in the TV-Server Configuration under TV-Servers - > Name of your Computer
Then select your TV-Card and click on "edit".
Is the card allowed to grab EPG? If yes, you could try to turn it off temporarily. If not, just change nothing.
Is the card allowed to be preloaded? If yes, you could either try to use the "stop card" setting or disable preloading completely.

Doh - didn't notice that. Good call. That will probably fix it.
