I have tested the server on different computers with happage 150 mce and it works fine as long as you run the client/server on same computer but when trying to view tv on a client connected from other computer it will becume very unstabil.

Tv stream works most of the time
switching channels often hangs the client
tyring to whatch recorded tv hangs the client every time

i have tryed this on different clients and servers and it is the same result.
i am using 100 mb wired lan on a hub.
i have followd the wiki.

Anyone have the same problems or is it something wrong with my setup ?

I have exactly same experience on two client machines connting to my server with Hauppauge MCE 150/500.

    Slower startup of mediaportal client

Slow channel switching, with a hang of 3-5 seconds.

Both machines frezzes often in tv mode, and i can't shutdown mediaportal. Have to use the power button.

All Clients/servers are Up to date 13/11-2006

    Hi,

i have exactly the same problem here since 10-12 svn-vers. i have tried.

It becomes more stable when you turn tv-off before changing the channel.

I suggest there´s an issue building the graph at Zapping.........

There are similar threads in the Bug-Forum...

    regards
    Mike

I also have simular problem... But i cant even get the client plug to work on another system but the localhost.

After adding the ip address upon first visiting the my tv screen.. it comes back but not as the doucmentation meantions with a screen "My TV"...

Im wondering if the client will only contact the tv server for info or make any calls to the sql server because my epg data wont populate.

The client host seems to open up two tcp connection on port 31456....

    Hmm...

I performed the streaming test with VLC. Works perfect..

    Installed on client:
Media portal 0.2.1.0 + SVN (2006-11-15) + TV server plugin.
    Was asked to enter IP.

    Still wont work.

Also set the SQL Browser services to automatic and started it up.

Noticed that VLC used port 554 which indicates that Mediaportal as a client has not tried to open a stream against port 554 ...yet

So.. Is port 31456 tvserver or sql stuff??

    Hi!
You should not have used Media portal 0.2.1.0 + SVN, it should be Media portal 0.2.0.0 + SVN!
If thats your only problem then it should work!

This is what goes on network wise.

    The client does:
    get_Cards.WTvControl.IController
    server response with nothing

    then the client does
    get_DatabaseConnectionString.WTvControl.IController, TvControl
    server responds with connection info...
looking at the data source = test-bla bla bla

not so good with windows networking but this is netbios names... not set this up... maybe i should switch to using only ipaddresses... any suggestion on how to set this up?????
