    Hi,

are there any plans to have different Codec settings for TV and Video?
And will you add Postprocessing Parts like in MP1?

Currently not. Codecs are chosen by video format (MPEG2, AVC), not by the source where the frames come from. The preferred LAV codec is a good general purpose codec.

And will you add Postprocessing Parts like in MP1?
You can already use different filters like sharpen, they can be accessed by "info" (2 or multiple times until menu opens) under "effects". Further effects can be added in form of DX-shaders.

Thats what i mean too. I use the ffdshow raw video filter as postprocessing for SVP (smooth video project)

I first wanted to write that I don't plan to implement this. But I checked the SVP project and it sounds indeed interesting.

So for current situation it could already work, if the required filters are automatically added to graph by DirectShow auto connect methods.

I will test this also and see what would be needed to allow "injecting" other filters into DirectShow graph without doing all connections manually.

I just checked this page for examples of "Smooth Video": http://www.spirton.com/convert-videos-to-60fps/. After I seen the "InterFrame" converted clip, I really dislike this effect. In my opinion the image is worse, at it looks artifical "layered", foreground and background seems to be decoupled. I had the same bad experience with "The Hobbit", I find it looks terrible.

But anyway, I see other examples why a video post-processing might be good, I'll check it.

for me postprocessing is absolutly necessary. i wouldnt use any mediacenter without postprocessing...
at the moment i use "High quality YV12 to RGB conversion", a better resitze algorithm than mp-default biliniear resize and -most important- a sharpen filter (unsharp masking/asharp). also high quality video (720p, 1080p) benefits from a shapen filter if you know how to use this in the right way. i have testeted a lot - i am pretty sure also good tv-receivers (like my kathrein, which is known for good picture quality) use a kind of unsharp masking. but you have to use this carefully depending on the video resolution (you cant use the same amount of sharpen for SD, HD, or avi/xvid). and that is at the moment only possible with ffdshow. another option would be a "rule based" use of shaders like it is done in xbmc-dsplayer. regarding to this i have ask some time ago (point 2 und 3):
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/shader-postprocessing.121396/

if a option for postprocessing would come in the future to mp2 that would be very nice.....

@morph: i use Svp for 3D. In normal Movies i dislike the Smooth effect too, but in 3D it is better for your eyes :). (Kurz auf deutsch: im 3D fällt der Soap Effekt auch nicht so auf. durch die Zwischenbildberechnung ermüdet das Auge bei 3D nicht so schnell. Ist irgendwie angenehmer)

i love how subtitles are implemented in the MP2 videoplayer, this is just perfect. 1080p playback is also very good. But video playback in MP2 is buggy when playing 4k material. Therefore: PLEASE add an option for an external video player! I'd LOVE to have VLC back as videoplayer, like in MP1! This works perfectly. You will make a...

Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...
