Hello W7,
Can you help me ? I have installed Windows 7 7100 and my MCE Remote won't work properly. I noticed at the end of your last post that there may be a solution to this problem. Thank you in advance.
... I installed MP 1.02 on Windows 7 x64 yesterday and simply used the above noted file and all is well with my Vista MCE remote. I did back up the original file just in case.
Thanks , great work.
I have made some progress now.
a. Uninstalled Haali and installed your splitter (tip: had to run cmd "as Administrator")
b. PowerDVD Trial: someone has changed the link you gave above, so now it contains PowerDVD 9 Trial.
I saw this after install, so I uninstalled it (by the way the drivers still stayed, I can see them in MP configuration, but wont select them)
Here is a new one for PowerDVD 8 http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/trial/pdvd/8/CyberLink.1830U_DVD071109-06_R1_Trial_Ultra.exe
I already have Cyberlink.PowerDirector.Ultra.v7 which may also have some codecs for this. Hope it wont interfere.
c. I registered the codec with your download, thanks
Question: following a previous procedure) I also got CLVsd.ax and at the time put it in the C:\ is that enough?
I can register it the same way you do in your splitter.
SUCCESS:
In MyDVD and MyVideo I am now able to set Cyberlink Video/SP decoder (PDVD8) as the codec
ISSUE:
I cannot set the decoder for H264, because the Cyberlink H264 decoder does not appear as a choice.
What to do now?
Rrrr
First the Codec shouldn´t interfere with PowerDirector. Maybe that you now have some codecs twice. One named X-PowerDirector and one with X-PowerDVD but that shouldn´t be a problem. Both products are from cyberlink and i think they want people to be able to use both products at the same time so the can make you pay for both at the same time
Then you registered only the CLVsd.ax and didn´t install the PowerDVD Trial right? The CLVsd.ax is only the mpeg2 codec. If you didn´t install powerdvd the h264 codec is still missing. So you have to install the trial without, you have no h264 support!
I did install PDVD8 and also registered CLVsd.ax.
I have actually three codecs to choose from in MPEG2: Cyberlink Video/SP decoder (PDVD8), (PDVD9) and (HomeNetwork)
So now I un-installed it and installed it again: still no H264 codec.
Is the link I gave you perhaps a version of PDVD without H264?
Do you have an idea/what to check?
I downloaded a different PDVD 8 (Ultra) and this one gave me the H264 codec.
I updated the link in the thread above.
It is working perfectly, low CPU on an H264 mkv file, wonderful. But no sound.
Thank you very much.
I have also successfully used the link to the MCE remote in this thread.
You asked me about sound. I am testing with the PC connected to 2 normal PC speakers, but when I move the system to the living room, I intend to use the 5.1 channel output (COAX) to a receiver.
I have no sound on this mkv file, but I do not know the exact specs: not sure if it is 5.1 or stereo.
I would like to download and test a few h264 files.
Do you have any other suggestions for sound settings than the one you gave already ?
Nice you got it working! First you have to configure all used audio codecs to use spdif out. You can do this via the directshowfilter control in mediaportals configuration. You have to select spdif as default windows audio output device. You can do this by right clicking the audio symbol in the taskbar and selecting playback devices or in the windows control panel. You will see all audio devices listed. Right click on the spdif and select set as default output device. After that you have to select which audio signals your receiver can decode. To do that just open the properties of the spdif out. Many receivers are able to decode DTS and even some can decode WMA. You should be able to find the needed informations in the manual of your receiver. After setup you can do some tests if the receiver realy supports the selected audio signals. But be sure to only enable the supported audio signals otherwise you can damage your speakers! Finding test videos is very hard i spend nights to find some of them so i´m sorry i can´t tell were you can find some directly but googling for trailers isn´t a bad way.
I set MP audio settings, but the windows setting has no SPDIF device. How do I get it?
(SPDIF is enabled in the custom properties of the device called speakers)
So on normal AVI movies I have stereo audio and I have only stereo sound in the main speakers when playing avi with dd5.1.
If Spdif is selected at speakers it should work. So i think you have to check your receiver. What receiver do you own and what is the receiver displaying when you play dolby digital 5.1 files? What soundcard do you own? There are enougt Soundcards that have an digital out but don´t support dolby digital!
