It is a Sony STR-DB930 and it shows stereo when playing AC3 movies.

The soundcard is integrated in the ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard, I remember from the past (3 y ago) it worked well. There is sound coming out of it, just not DD5.1. I am wondering if W7 supports this card, although there should not be a reason not:

Sound Card: Integrated Soundmax 1985WDM_3630
Sound Card AC3: S/PDIF out connector
Sound Card Driver: 1985WDM_3630

When i open that menu i see two entries. The first entry is speakers, but there is a second one that is named spdif. Spdif is missing so i would search for a newer driver or check the control panel that comes with the soundcards driver. Under Windows Seven i didn´t need ac3filter anymore but if it´s working why change? You know never change a running system or in your case don´t make it worse :D

I think it´s the same problem MediaPortal has with the MPC-HC h264 codec. I had the same problem with the MPC-HC its like MediaPortal is loading the codec but never releasing it. Any Playback of a video that needs the MPC-HC codec will fail after the first playback. That´s why i changed to the PowerDVD Codecs. One suggestion at the end: i would not use the microsoft codec in mytv for mpeg2, because sometimes you can´t delete a recording after watching it.

    Good luck

Hi win7. I also have this problem with MPC-HC and haali (no disposed correctly) and can't play more than one .mkv in this configuration. Maybe have you managed to solve the problem? I have this problemi with windows 7 RC x86. Some users using windows 7 RC x64 have reported they do not have this problem.

    Thanks
