Can you explain me what a "APIPA address" is? I have googled it, but It's not clear to me..

first item in google APIPA : http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/protocolsdhcp/g/bldef_apipa.htm
so that range is 169.254.x.x

just an update, everything is still running smooth now with the MS lookback adapter installed.. So; fingers crossed! And let's hope this was THE solution..
