MediaPortal Version: svn--10-24-2006--19-59-Rev11306 (Tried two earlier revisions as well) Clean install.
TVEngine version: 10-24-2006--15-18h--Rev11304 (Tried earlier here as well)
Windows Version: XP Pro SP2
CPU Type: Athlon 3200+
Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo / NForce 3
GFX: Geforce 6800.
1. TV Card: Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2.
1. TV Card Type: Analog
1. TV Card Driver: 2.52.1.21351

I get this too when pressing the scan for channels in SetupTV, no matter which country I select.
"An Exception 'System.Argument.OutOfRangeException' has occurred in SetupTv.exe".
Because it's in SetupTV, I don't think there are any relevant logs.

Please Remove all cards from MP itself
Now both MP and tvserver are trying to access the tv-cards

Also note that analog s/w cards are currently not supported
about the ATI Theater 550 Pro, there seems to be a problem with it.

first of all, how on earth did I manage to ignore that part of the instructions twice? I'm ashamed :)

second: I removed the card from MP itself, retried the SetupTV, didn't work. Reinstalled the TV server, rebooted, and still the same argument out of range error. This is before I even start MP itself by the way.
edit: Tried a reinstall of MP, and still the same. Found the logs and attached them. here

I aswell tried a full reinstall, uninstalled MP, deleted all files in MP folder, installed 0.2.0.0 and latest svn. Then TV server and plugin.
Only change is that scanning for channels doesn't crash the app any more. But the log files are the same. Unable to create graph.
I do not use norton, but tried uninstalling Kasperskys aswell, without luck.

I can confirm I have the same problem - When searching for channels I get to around 641xxx mhz (where my first batch of channels are usually found) and the TV searcher just stops and says Scan Complete - 0 Channels found.
Looking at logs I see the Out of Range Exception... this card and input signal work fine in TV Engine 2, I have tried out both the initial release of TV Eng 3 and the latest SVN of it, both give same results - I have no Norton or anything like that installed either.
I have also noticed when scanning that the Signal and Strength bars are both at maximum constantly... whereas Signal Quality is usually at 0% in TV Eng2 unless a channel is being picked up....
Logs are attached - Above dashes are what I get when the scan fails, below the dashes are what i get if I try going back to the tuning screen after a crash if the TV Service hasn't been restarted. (the screen also doesn't load)

    Logs here: http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/11116

    Cheers!
Hopefully someone can work out whats happening so I can watch some TV :D

I also have problems with the Sapphire card. I couldn't find anyting in the Mantis about it, so I thought I'd post my problems. I hve been trying to get the sapphire-card running from the first edition of the engine and up to yesterdays svn om both MP and the TV-engine, but with no luck. When I scan for channels in the TVengine setup the progress bar progresses, but the tuner never lock and "current channel" displays "none" during the entire process. When I scan with hvr-1300 analogue the Current channel goes through the channels and locks where the channels are. When I try to map any channel (found with the hvr) only to sapphire and presses "preview" I get the message "Preview failed:ChannelNotMappedToAnyCard". Preview of any channel through the hvr works fine. I also cannot watch more than one channel in the program. Both cards work well without the engine.

At first the scanning crashed the entire tvserver process, but now it just fail to find anything.

I don't use the dvb-t part of the hvr card, by the way.

I attached the tv.log and error.log after shuting down the engine, restart and scan for channels as frodo suggested in another post about this card. https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=12047&highlight=550 post #4

If there is anything else I can provide to fix this problem I'd be happy to help.

By the way, the work of the devs on this project is awsome! Hats off!

    Hi,

I seem to be having the same norton a/v compatibility problems....

I've been using norton antivirus 2007 for about a month now, and have before managed to do channel scans with it installed. however yesterday I had to delete all my channels and do a full re-scan. Now when I scan it instantly crashes, the error logs show the same error messages as above.

Earlier I tried to uninstall Norton and it solved the issue - I could do a channel scan. However, the uninstalling of norton causes issues in itself (I have now restored to a back up made before the uninstall to save myself hassle) .

Therefore I can confirm that there IS a bug with norton (however at times i've managed to do a channel scan without a crash!?).

Can I ask a few questions:
    a) Is there a work around for this bug (other than uninstalling norton, doing a channel scan, then re-installing)
    b) Are you working on a bug fix?
    c) Any other ideas of things I can try to get it to work, the programme is great when its working ;)

    Thanks

    Maddy
