    Jira BUG MP1-4071
    Hi

I will update quite a few crash reports this one is probably quite messy, because I didn't preclean the log files:

    System Info:
MP 1.4 , Win7 x64, hardware listed in system specs under HTPC.
This also happens on my desktop pc which is not running tv-server.

    Description:
Mediaportal is becoming unresponsive in system tray.

    Steps:
[2013-06-21 17:51:16,168] - I stopped play back of local video file (abraham lincoln movie from moving pictures)
Next I close MP with ALT+F4 and set it to system tray
Subsequently I am unable to restore from system tray.
Had to use task manager to force close MP process.

Another crash this time while alt+tabbed, but not in the try. It occured while I had tv-server config open, however I wanted using live TV or in the TV part of MePo.

In task manger the process was called "Mediaportal - Dialog ok", which is strange because I'm pretty sure I didn't have any dialog open in MePo. I forgot to check memory useage.

Probably an issue with Exit to Tray.

Can you try the following: do not activate exit to tray, but instead activate minimize on focus switch and just change the focus and try to reproduce the issue?

Just want to see if it a tray issue or an an issue with the "Exit to tray" method.

2nd one is unrelated. Logs shows error in TV client.

[X] Minimize to tray on focus loss (full screen only)
[ ] Minimize to tray on start up
[ ] Minimize to tray on GUI exit

^ changed to above will see what happens.

    Another crash with above settings.

MP icon was visible in both system tray and task bar, but neither could be interacted with. Had to force close process to close mediaportal.exe. Forget to check memory usage.

Also I added MAC address to tvserver settings, why is my mp client waking up my tvserver when it is on the home screen?

We are thinking that is a different bug (context menu left open when minimizing MePo causes crash) that was 'fixed' in MP 1.4 Final. Need to upgrade to 1.4 Final then try to reproduce your bug.

Another crash - ?Crashed because of new notification while not focussed.

[X] Minimize to tray on focus loss (full screen only)
[ ] Minimize to tray on start up
[ ] Minimize to tray on GUI exit

    Description
Mediaportal on Titan Basic Home Screen, only just started the client
    Alt+tabbed to copy some files.
I tried to switch back to mp, (<5 min later), but it had crashed.
In task manager it was listed as "MediaPortal - Notification" [Not responding...], so I think the crash may of been caused by a notification event while in tray. Memory usage was only 160mb. Logs attached.

Seems related to the context menu thing that prevents restoration from the tray while a context menu is open. Meaning the context menu was just a symptom of another thing where MP does not process the message queue anymore.

If an application does not process the message queue Windows will show it as "not resposing" after a certain amount of ms passed.

Not really a crash, but just MP not reactiving to messages send by Windows.

It is reproducible but I still have not identified the root cause yet. I know what too look for, but still have a lot of stuff to go though until I find the spot that blocks message queue processing.
