Custom Data Grabber including Sky UK Channel/EPG Grabber (7 Viewers)

Aye (rough) current procedure I use to install (from clean)

Install 1.2.2
Install git sky grabber installers - tvserver and client
copy custom data grabber and sky plugin
- drop the mptvdb
run tv server config, setup everything needed and scan with sky grabber

Unfortunately that has not worked - now there is no data anywhere at all, not even on BBC3/4.

EPG log just shows that zero info has be added for each channel

Same issue here - I`m running MP 1.2.2 on Windows 7 64 bit ultimate - followed your instructions to the letter, onelegend - and quite simply cant get this to work. After running the grabber in tv config the entire EPG is empty and the EPG log shows zero entries being added to each channel. the svn patched installers I have used are those from icam2 on page 86 of this thread.

Also (I cant reproduce this reliably though ) I notice that sometimes when you push "grab now" and let dj blu`s prog do its thing, then push grab now again, errors along the lines of "Error decoding title, index out of bounds of array" show up
I attach my logs again - could anyone give me and spacemanc a hand with this? There have to be some people out there with this working well in 1.2.2. This is genuinely one of the best extensions in MP and I`m keen to get this working.

Can we hear from the esteemed devs on this one?

I'm just giving up on a night of trying to get this to work. In the morning I'll go nuclear and delete everything mediaportal off my PC, which is pretty frustrating as that seems to be the standard solution any time I touch new mediaportal software

The fast channel changes are great, but the EPG does not work. Strangely at one point tonight, I once again got EPG for about 5 channels, so there is something working.

Im currently using all the files from the front page of this thread, on a Win7 64 PC with a TBS 6981 card. In previous attempts I've been using a different TBS driver (2.0.0.18?) , but I havent tried icams files.

It would be great to have a solution to this - fast channel changes are great, but the EPG is more important to me. I thought that my 1.2.1 setup was fantastic anyway, so I really should have held off and waited!!!

EDIT : My logs are identical to ay129's - the logs say no data added, and yet when it is grabbing it does say that it is updating the EPG.

I've had some correspondence with TBS about the driver issue - and they have updated the driver on their site. (I don't fancy trying it unless they update TBS6981 also!) They initially said there was a problem with the driver that could cause the card to fail, and they would update the driver immediately - however a few minutes later they retracted that statement.

The correspondence I had (pasted below) doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, as I thought the patch they refer to was already included in the latest DJBlu files.

Maybe someone can comment?

I'm sorry for the delayed response. I'm currently preparing to move to a new house so I am spending most of my spare time packing and very little time working on MediaPortal.

In answer to your questions:
- MediaPortal never supported the DiSEqC struct for the NXP based cards. It would use the customised Conexant interface (old SDK) with Get rather than Set, so the driver would probably see the DiSEqC message length as zero.
- The new SDK is implemented in version 2 of the patch which is available from this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/tbs-ci-cam-support-and-other-improvements.103276/

Unfortunately the patch has not been integrated into a MediaPortal main release yet. Please try the patch - it should solve the problem.

Some customer want to improve the tuning time with Mediaportal,so we just change the 6981 and 6984's driver for meet their requirement,and Mediaportal done this,but never release.

Another thing I noticed - with driver 1.0.2.1 the TBS6984 was running extremely hot - almost too hot to hold.
Seems a lot cooler now that I rolled the driver back...

+1 to repeated clean uninstalls and installs- they have not helped me though. Let us know if you crack it today

Thanks psykix - i noticed this sky uk grabber radio channel and have been ticking this in the radio epg as you describe - no joy. On your setup, does this channel come up with a red T icon next to it? Mine comes up with a red T - does that mean its encrypted for whatever reason? Also, in all the material I have seen in this thread, there hasnt been any reference to this radio channel (admittedly I havent read all 109 pages) - are there more setup instructions I havent spotted that could explain my issues?

One last thing - there are some transponder tuning details in the sky uk grabber - have these changed at all recently? I went on Kingofsat.com and notice two EPG channels on the same frequency - there is service ID 4152 which is called EPG background audio and 4189 which is simply EPG. See below/attached for default tuning options: Anything wrong here?

I'm baffled with another problem now! I can watch multiple channels in both rooms with no continuity errors now..

However.. If watching live tv on the client, and playing either a movie or a tv series in the living room, then the client live tv breaks up and I get continuity errors in my log files..

The other way round (movie or tv series on the client, live tv on server) is fine...

Time shift is on my SSD and movies/tv series are on my RAID 5 array so not sure what the issue may be?!

I don't change any tuning details..

I don't have any red T icons? All mine have a letter R in a red circle to the left of them...

Exactly the same as mine and mine works fine,
I am using 1.2.0 final
tbs 6981 with the 2.0.1.3 drivers

Have you enabled the card to be used for EPG grabbing by going to the tv server card menu and clicking on your card and then edit and then checking the allow card to be used for epg grabbing box?
Also I have gone into the DVB EPG menu and clicked on both tv and radio epg grabber sections and put a tick in the box next to english.
Also try ticking the epg grabbing while timeshifiting/recording box in the dvb epg menu
