I'm posting here first but not sure if its a problem from this plugin or something deeper. I'm running the v250 1.2.3 patch from the first page.
DJBlu - if you don't think this is due to your plugin, then I'll post elsewhere.

My TVserver correctly creates one-time instances of series in the schedules table - e.g. tonight, it turned the Homeland series into tonight's episode to record. Then it did nothing - it failed to commence recording yet the row remains in the table even after it should have finished. I could watch live TV at the time, and all channels checked out on a test scan. No mention of Homeland or any activity at the scheduled time in the logs.

In fact, this is not the only thing MediaPortal should have recorded tonight - the last recording seems to be CSI last night. However, the Manual Control tab implied that MediaPortal was still recording CSI today (not the case, as otherwise I would have a 200Gb CSI episode).

I can only assume that a scheduler module crashed in some way? Although, even after a reboot, these items remain queued to record.

You can have 2 or more channels that link to the same stream.

ITV1 HD will exist as 2 seperate channels(Service IDs) but will link to the same Video and Audio Stream.

The PMT grabber only grabs the first Service ID and it thinks there is a mismatch which is technically true but its not. This is in the pipeline to be fixed.

Thanks for the information :) . So is it a problem with mediaportal or problem with this plugin ?

Also is there any workaround to use at the moment ? Or if not how can I stop it writting this log as its taking up all my disk space

Not sure if you setup to record using series link or not but if you did and the system was in standby/sleep it won't record due to a wake event bug/issue

No, the server is always on, as it doubles as my web server. Also, set on an "record everytime on this channel" rather than series link.

I am constantly getting the unknown error after installing the plugin and this happened since the 1.2.1 release when I started using MePo!!

1st off thanks to DjBlu as when it works it is awesome but I always struggle to get it up and running where seemingly it will randomly install and work after days of repeatedly re-installing from scratch and this is after following the instructions to the letter (they are fairly simplistic so not too hard) with little or no variation which reading the forums I am assured it will work fine.

    Here is snippet from log:

2012-05-05 11:49:54.923818 [(23)]: Exception :TvLibrary.TvException: Unable to tune to channel
at TvLibrary.Implementations.DVB.TvCardDvbBase.SubmitTuneRequest(Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel, ITuneRequest tuneRequest, Boolean performTune)
at TvLibrary.Implementations.DVB.TvCardDvbBase.DoTune(Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel, Boolean ignorePMT)
    at TvLibrary.Implementations.DVB.TvCardDVBS.Tune(Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel)
at TvService.CardTuner.Tune(IUser& user, IChannel channel, Int32 idChannel)

I have dropped the database about a million times and reinstalled more times than I would care to in a lifetime so am trying to get to bottom of why this happens and to get a rock solid solution/process to install in future as there are posts suggesting that you scan and drop the db twice etc which seems like nonsense as it is only deleting the same things twice??

I am on Win7x64 using the latest files on 1.2. 3with a Tevii DVB/S2 card.

If anyone could post their process start to finish maybe in a bit more details that in forums I would appreciate it as the original instructions and also dropping the db after I have upgraded over the MP 1.2.3 install but it is not working reliably for me.

    I have got from reading:
    install 1.2.3 official
select 28.2e quick scan and preview - all working
    manual stop and exit
    Install DjBlu 1.2.3 files
    Manual stop and exit
Drop database - not in DjBlu instructions but clarified but posts later that this is needed now
copy data grabber to TVserver folder and the Skygrabber to plugins folder
setup plugin and scan for channels

The plugin works as expected and finds channels, creates groups etc but as soon as try and preview channel/start timeshift I get the unknown error message.

I have tried varying how I install slightly but also to no avail, things like a scan for channels normally again after dropping the db then plugin, even did scan and drop twice as suggested in here somewhere, have tried using MS SQL Server, manual stop install plugins start again manual stop drop database start and plugin scan etc - I am not useless with PC's so this should not be causing me this much grief haha

    Cheers, Bob.

Hi Bob, I think this is the issue that I had with my card, technotrend s3200. Try the scan again but with the "Set modulation to Not Set for SD and HD" boxes ticked, i'm sure that cured it for me. Hope that helps.

    Cheers.

    Hiya dude,

Ugghhh my head hurts, should have taped the boxing!!

Cheers for the info, had seen that posted reading through 124 pages over the last few weeks haha it didn't make a difference for me having one or the other set or not unfortunately but it is definately that it is missing some info somewhere.

What was weird was think it was 4hd or some other free HD channel maybe broadcasts a bit different to the others actually worked and which got me thinking must be missing info, what I have done is ran the plugin to grab and sort then I have ran a full scan with the built in scanner and it has updated the database with whatever was missing and all channels work now!!

So if anyone else gets the issue that may possibly resolve the issue, must be something Tevii related is all I can think.

    Cheers, Bob.

Anyone know if TVControl.dll is modified in this patch?

Just wondering if I can replace it with the Windows 8 compatible one - thinking of giving Windows 8 a whirl...

I know that feeling! I'm tempted to upgrade at the moment but I just can't face the inevitable problems with the install. If I had the skills to make some kind of installer for all this stuff then I would. How hard can it be to make an auto installer? DjBlu must spend a massive amount of time on the grabber and like you say it's awesome when it works. I wonder how many people give up before seeing it work because of the install problems. :(

Yeah I had tried MP quite a while ago and it wasn't far enough along but came back few month ago now and been enjoying it apart from getting the grabber running but hopefully got to the bottom of my problem!!

As for win8 - I've tried an unfortunately it don't work, it installs fine but when you try an run the grabber it crashes tvserver so some incompatability somewhere.

    Cheers, Bob.
