No, the logo's are not supplied with any skin. They are an addon that must be placed within the logo's folder, sometimes the logo's don't match the channel name so you have to rename them to match. DJBlu's new plugin should take care of this

First off, I want to thank DJBlu for this wonderful feature he added to MediaPortal. It makes managing my HTPC a lot easier, especially when Sky adds / rearranges channels.

At first I had some troubles in making the Sky IT grabber work. The problem I was experiencing was that while SD channels would work perfectly if I enabled the option that left the modulation field unset, HD channels wouldn't work no matter how I played with the settings.

Checking tuning details, I noticed that the grabber would set the HD modulation to 8PSK2 or QPSK2, which made perfect sense since they are HD channels, but my card, a SkyStar HD2, would not tune and gave a "no signal" error unless I changed the modulation to 8PSK and QPSK respectively.

Personally I solved the problem by running an SQL script which replaces the problematic modulation with the working counterpart in the database right after the grabber has done its thing. I imagine, though, that many users wouldn't feel comfortable in tinkering with the database that way.

Would it be possible to add a flag in the grabber settings that, when ticked, would cause the grabber itself to set the modulation field to 27 (8PSK) instead of 32 (8PSK2) and 20 (QPSK) instead of 31 (QPSK2)? Something like "Skystar HD2 modulation workaround".

That would make the plugins perfect for anybody, even those who have a picky (someone could say crappy) tuner card.

using the free to air sat version anf wanted to add sky news in the uk but not got enough info on all the needed tuning details can someone please supply these as http://en.kingofsat.net/find2.php?p...m_genre=8&num_crypt=&num_standard=&ordre=freq does not give me all i need to know

mm series link isnt working for me ? i have no doubt its something ive done wrong but i followed 1.3 alpha post to the letter and all seemed fine until it failed to record a series twice.
The scheduled recordings shows the series and date plus time it should record but it does nothing ? what can i provide to help as the debug mode turns off plugins?
normal recordings work fine.

I realise that DJBlu isn't supporting it just yet, but did you try this out? I built a new HTPC client this week so I went for Windows 8 to save the hassle of doing a reinstall/upgrade in the future. It would be really nice to get the plugin working.

I didn't try it - I decided to wait for the 1.3b release, and then do a rebuild on top of Windows 8. Can't stand Metro, but it boots up nice and fast

Added: Logo Downloader.
Fixed: Transport detail changes not being picked up.

To get logos you will need a fresh channel install, i.e. Delete all your channels and use the scanner to update them again.

To enable the logo downloader, click on Settings. There are 3 new options.

"Download Logos". This is enabled by default.
"Overwrite existing files". This is disabled by default.
"Size". 4 selections, 100x100px, 200x200px, 300x300px, 400x400px

Select the folder where you wish to save the logos to.

"\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\tv\logos" - Windows 7/Vista
"\Documents and Settings\<your account name>\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\tv\logos" - Windows XP

P.S. The downloader is reliant on a web service that I have no control over so if the logos stop downloading then it may not be fixable.

more great work MR Blu will this be implemented for the freesat users ? and lets hope the web service stays working
Also i asked whether i could get the needed tunning details for sky news to add the channel to my freesat channel list as the details on kings sat are not enough for a manual tune on mp. Also i provided logs as series link not working for me on 1.3Alpha likely my fault but i followed your how to precisely.

No it will not be added to freesat as they don't use the same system as sky.

As for the series link recording. Is the machine awake when the recording should start?
