Custom Data Grabber including Sky UK Channel/EPG Grabber (2 Viewers)

Strange, maybe I should drop the database and start again. I had it initially set to 'East & Midlands' (I'm in the East Midlands so it seemed appropriate).. no ITV HD. Changed to 'Midlands' and it adds ITV HD.

Attaching my current logs. I did a manual scan in the plugin config just before 9pm and changed the region and scanned some time after that. Done another since and still not getting all the program information for channels showing in the guide.

I've also noticed something else weird in the guide, I have it set to grab the [HD] [SUB] etc tags, and it seems to show duplicates (see the screenshot).

One other thing.. There are multiple Channel 4+1 channels. I always pick the first one and disable all the others. I also disable all SD versions if there is an HD version available.

Is there a reason you do this? I thought there needed to be no intervention when using this plugin as it did it all itself?

EDIT: Hmm so yes, of the first 4 channels I checked which I don't have data for, there are duplicate entries in the channels list of the config and both tune OK. The other always has channel 10000 number. I wonder if it's choosing the wrong channel. Its strange, whilst I haven't used this since I had the full Sky suite, I never used to have any of these issues.

Also I was wondering about the HD / SD thing too. Because I ticked the box to swap the SD channel with the HD channel, and ITV is still at the top of the group and ITV HD further down as is C4 HD and BBC HD. I thought they were supposed to swap around. For what it's worth, just unticked this option and ran another grab and the channels stay in exactly the same place in the guide.

I'm also in the East Midlands and the correct region for Derby/Leicester/Nottingham is 'Midlands & Yorkshire'.

Kind of defeats the object though I'll try a different region I guess then - didn't realise ITVHD was region specific.

ITV HD is available across England, Wales and the Scottish borders (map), but there are only 4 HD variations (all FTA) so we get Central West in HD (Birmingham's news). Northern Ireland gets UTV and Scotland gets STV, neither have added their HD channels to Sky yet (November and April respectively). The Channel Islands has ITV but doesn't get ITV HD. You can use the online guide to see what's available.

BBC One, BBC Two, ITV and Channel 4 wouldn't be swapped because they have regional variations which don't all exist as HD channels. The only FTA channel that does swap is RT so you may as well switch it off to get ITV2, E4, etc. back lower down.

Channel 10000's aren't assigned to your region, in this case they're different regional variations (ads) for Channel 4 +1 (map). The grabber should assign the correct one to channel 135.

Hey thanks for the info I'll change it to that region and see if my guide populates program details ok!

EDIT: Changed the region, I have ITV HD but half of my guide is saying no information available still..

Hey buddy have noticed 2 issues with the latest NZ plugin:

a) The polarity is set to vertical when it should be horizontal; and
b) The FTA channels (Maori TV etc.) keep on being added on every scan, where as the Sky channels are deleted and replaced as expected. This leads to multiple FTA channels clogging up the channels list.

Also, do I need to select the channels (i.e. tick them) for them to show? I thought, perhaps wrongly, that the plugin would select only the channels that have channel numbers? Again, speaking of which I'm getting a channel showing in 'All Channels' and other groups called 'LNB Test' assigned channel 999 which doesn't show on the official box. Do you define the grouped channels by those with a channel number less than 10000 that fits the region settings?

Edit: so it appears to be only on the FTA muxs and not those carried on the Sky muxs that duplicate on every scan.

hi guys sorry anyone got any idea what is causing my problem. I am getting the same error on one full server/client machine and on my 2 client machines I have now reinstalled several times to no effect! I even disconnect them from the server and get the same error!

Hi DJBlu, sorry to hear the new pairing setup has reached your system, i wonder how long it will be until "full" propagation.
I'm set to Northern Ireland region and i've noticed Channel4+1 and E4+1 don't seem to get epg updates.
Is there anyway to make tuning into a channel with no signal (non-24/7 channels mostly) a little more graceful, i've found it makes mediaportal hang for quite a while and sending channel up or down commands might not actually cause the desired effect until mediaportal responds (makes the click sound) and then you re-try the command before it "hangs again".

Hope you don't get pressured back to the original box and lose interest in developing. I cancelled sub and never looked back full package sub buys lots of beer tokens ha.

Sky are rolling out a new box to card pairing system (have for a while now), if you update your card via the box then it will be effected sooner or later

From what I understand if it updates via a card reader then you should be ok

Although djblu hasn't said how it happened
