Atomic - that is the same issue I had... can you check if you have your hard drives set to sleep - I did, and turning this off fixed it for me.

not set to sleep as i have an ssd which tend to panic lock when set too sleep, but for some reason the hdd were set to turn off after 20 minutes, over sight on my behalf as ive been using different images of windows to test software etc and then go back to where i was. Will try it all now ive changed this setting, fingers crossed!

UPDATE - Ok i tried numerous times to grab all the channels or update the channels and each time nothing would happen, or so it seemed as i was getting no information as to what was happening, however it did update some channels. After a few attempts it seemed to fix itself and then provided me with information as to what was happening and found x amount of channels.
So i went and checked the tv channels list and groups, all seemed ok, i delete the scrambled channels as no point in them being there, hits the button and sure enough they were deleted, great i thought. But no i then lose all channels in the groups except for `old sky channels` `all channels` and the channels default view. o something not quite working as it should ?

I also noticed every time i scan it finds a different amount of channels, 1050 then 1034 then 1047, so no consistancy there either?

now realised that when i scan its now only sorting the scrambled channels into groups and not the fta channels, hence i lose all channels in groups when i delete the scrambled channels.

ok used your directions and uninstalled mediaportal completely and reinstalled the files off page 1 all went well.

Did a grab using the sky uk grabber and all completed as it should, in 79 seconds !!!!

i have a full epg from the first few pages i checked. incredible plugin!!!

only thing is i have freesat and soon freeview and need fta channels only, is this something that i can achieve at present, i dont yet have the freeview card just the free to air sat card.

many thanks and great work :)

no itv1 hd yet just trying extended grab time

update : found itv1 hd scrambled and fta but fta was not ticked.

i can now get itv1 hd in the groups section, hd and entertainment as i added the channel to them but cant get it to show 3rd in the tv guide?

If you would like to use the ITV 1 HD fta channel then select England (BBC) / London (ITV) in the region, it will add the FTA channel and will give it channel number 178.

Added: New Settings Page, more space for further improvements.
Improved: Scan Method, will search the BAT first and ensure it is
populated before scanning for SDT.

Please test this as much as you can, any errors then please let me know as I am going to focus on diseqc for a few weeks. I'll then move back onto this project after this.

Hi

Tried v1.2.0.17 last night.
It seems to be working fine except,i am using the ITV north east Selection in regions,And Channel 5 only appears in all channels.
If i manually move it to 105 and put it in the entertainment group,it moves again when the epg is re-scanned.

Are you ignoring Scrambled Channels by any chance?

If so then the Channel 5 for your region is encrypted.

The way the scanner works is correct, If you want to add channels and then them not move try this.

Scan your channels ignoring Scrambled Channels.
Move the Channel 5.
De-select "Use Sky Region".
This will stop channels moving around.
The plugin will update channels but will not move them.
Any new channels will be added to All Channels and it will be up to you to move them about.

Hope this helps.

    Hi Folks/DJBlu,
I've just switched to using this grabber, previously I was using the original skyepg grabber. I have a mixture of DVB-T and DVB-S2 cards (two of each). I think this is a reasonably common setup so how I'm doing things may be of interest to others....

Firstly, I'm in the UK and I'm essentially only using the free to air channels, however I do use the epg data from some of the encrypted channels (like 5 usa), to give me series link etc. for the DVB-T versions. This is how I've set things up so far...
    1. I used the sky-grabber to scan all of the DVB-S channels and populate the all channels list. I did not switch the HD channels for SD ones
    2. I manually picked out the channels I actually use and placed them in a my-channels group (basically these are all of the free to air channels ignoring shopping channels etc.).
    3. I then scanned the DVB-T channels and combined them with the DVB-S versions (so I have two entries for BBC one etc.), which means that I get the sky epg for all of these channels.
    4. This leaves me with a few channels like 5* and 5 usa, Dave etc. that are only free to air on DVB-T. For those channels that have a scrambled version available I combined the DVB-T version with scrambled version but set the DVB-S2 card mapping for that combined channel to be used for epg only. This gives me sky epg data for the DVB-T only channel.
    5. After all of the above I had one channel (that I care about), that has no epg data, this is the BBC DVB-T 301 channel which caries the red button sport coverage. I use this to watch the F1 practice sessions. To get epg data for this channel I use the radio times data via the web-epg grabber...
    6. I've deleted all of the scrambled channels except the ones that are used for DVB-T epg data.

So after all of the above I have combined entries for freeview/freesat channels with epg data coming from the skyepg. This gives me series link for pretty much all channels. One slight problem is that sometimes the Sky version of a DVB-T channel may have more shows on it (some of the DVB-T channels are only active for a limited time during the day). For me this is not a problem (as this only applies to channels that I rarely use), but it may be for some people...

    So a couple of questions...
    1. Is there a better way of doing something like this, as it takes a while to get this all set up.
    2. At the moment I have the channel update option turned off in the grabber as I don't want the above configuration damaged. But is there a safe way to allow the updating of the DVB-S data using the grabber, that will work with combined channels? Also I only need a small number of scrambled channels, is there some way to turn off the grabbing of scrambled channels (I know there is a new option to do this), but keep the ones that I'm actually using?

Hope the above is of some interest, and thanks again for the great work...

Yes i am ignoring scrambled channels.
I suppose what i am looking for is the freesat scanning and a bit of sky (ie all the fta channels that i can recieve through satellite).:)
I will try the above suggestion tonight.

    Andy

You'll be pleased to know I have just thrown an old Pinnacle DVB-T card in my dev machine and am looking into EIT from freeview.

I can understand how it is frustrating but the plugin was developed for DVB-S only. I haven't looked into combining channels but it should be safe to select the Add/Update channels as it will only update DVB-S tuning details.

    If you have select

    Add/Update Channels
    Update EPG

and de-select everything else. This will update and add new channels without moving anything around.

Ref: Channel 301. Have you selected this channel in the DVB EPG grabber?

    Hi,

Am using 1.2.0.17..........but I notice that if I uncheck USE SKY REGION then when I exit MP Config and go back in again it's checked.

I was hoping that by unchecking then if I manually add a channel from ALL CHANNELS to say ENTERTAINMENT then it would stick after a re-grab.......but it doesn't.

    Ian.
