Same as Maximo 1970. I can register the mpaudioswitcher by arion_p but the MP Installation fails.

Yep ! Shouldn't I? Seidelin I tried yours and registering works too, but the MP installation failed again.

Registering those files will not make the installation work. It is still trying to register the one it contains.

Those files were posted here to allow the team to work out what might be wrong, so it can be fixed for the next release.

As you can see, this is proving to be quite complicated.

Therefore a big to the dev team for exploring this issue although a few user have this problem.

We wanted you to test various versions of the mpaudioswitcher.ax to figure out what was wrong with it. There was no chance it would make beta installation work, sorry for not pointing this out. The whole exercise was to make sure we have it fixed for next MP version. Since arion_p's version registers ok, we now know it can be easily fixed for the next release.

Still, it's odd that it fails only in some PCs? Of course, it feels odd only because I don't know the actual cause for the failure =). I updated 4 PCs and only one failed. ( No, I won't downgrade the three, I'll live without that failing one =) and I'm happy it was not the tv-server that failed. )

Do you mean that the installer still fails or that you cannot register the MPAudioSwitcher.ax I have posted?

Seidelin has asked me to post a clear defined explanation of the issue I have experienced trying to install 1.2.0 beta.

When attempting to install Media Portal beta downloaded from the website it fail's trying to register the file MPAudiSwitcher.ax. Media Portal does not complete the installation and therefore does not function. The file that jameson_uk asked me to try and register manually also failed to work.

Can you download

and try the same with that file?

I was able to register the zipped file that Seidelin suggested.
