Thanks, arion_p.

I've just realized one thing. I don't know if you could fix it too, may be for the next SVN.
It is that with this new core.dll, that fix the grave accents and the other problematic characters, there's now one character that was right previously and it's wrong now. It's the Spanish question mark, that we use a lot because we put it at the beginning of all the interrogative sentences.

The right character is "¿" and after this new core.dll it shows this sign instead, in every interrogative sentence: "Ù".

For instance in the sentence "¿Por qué?" (Why?) it shows "ÙPor qué?"

Were other special characters in Spanish subtitles wrong before the patch?
I'm asking because Spanish should not be affected neither before nor after the patch. The same goes for English, Swedish and Finnish.

    Hi, arion_p.

This character "¿" is the only one affected after the patch. As I said, now: "¿" has transformed to "Ù".

I checked that several times: with the old core.dll, "¿" shows right, but all the specific characters (grave accents, Ç ^) of Italian and French show wrong. With your new core.dll, Italian and French are perfect, but every time there is an interrogative sentence in Spanish teletext subtitles, the "¿" shows wrong,

It would be great if you could fix it.

    Thank you,

Just spotted the in the source code. It is actually only in the code used to build the test Core.dll. I SVN it is correct, so in 1.1.0 it will be fixed.

PS: In case you are wondering, I have two code bases: one at v1.0.2 to build test binaries that work with the official release and one at the latest SVN to commit changes.

    Hi, arion_p.

I didn't upgrade MP till today. Now I have the last 1.1 Beta and also the last svn.

The thing is I upgraded a client PC, where I have XP SP3, and my HTPC, where I have Vista SP1. In the client with XP everything is perfect. Now I can see right the Spanish characters, but in the one with Vista I still have the same problem: "¿" has transformed to "Ù", an also I noticed now that all the capital letters that have an accent, like for instance, ADIÓS, don't show up, it only appears: ADI S.

I just wanted to let you know.

If you could give me a tip, I would appreciate it very much.

    Thank you in advance.

This doesn't make much sense. I would suggest you compare you installation directory to see which files are different or missing.

    Thanks for answering.

After reading your answer, I decided to make a clean install of MP in the HTPC with the Windows Vista, because I didn't remember if I have done it. Well, with the clean install, the problem of the wrong characters in Spanish was still there. So, I compared the installation directories and I found that the one with Vista had a PowerSheduler.Interfaces.dll that was missing in the one with XP (that is the PC where I can see all the teletext subtitles perfect).
Also, in plugins\process of the WVista there's a PowerSchedulerClientPlugin.dll that is not in the XP.

I don't know if that has some meaning. Anyway, I don't understand why the Vista has those scheduler.dll, since I did the same install in both PCs.

    Hi arion_p,

I found an explanation for this issue with the subtitles:

In the XP machine, where everything regarding subtitles was perfect, I had installed MP 1.1.0_BETA-1_rev23491.
In the HTPC Vista machine, where the subtitles were wrong, I had that same MP version but with the svn added.

Just to check it, I have installed in the XP machine the last svn for MP 1.1 beta and now the subtitles are wrong. So, I think I'm trying to go back to the 1.1 Beta, without any svn, in both machines. Moreover, with the last svn (2383) I had this two other issues:
-"Television" has disappeared from the MP configuration menu (only Videos, DVD, Music and Pictures)
-I couldn't change the aspect ratio of the image.

May be this two other issues have to do with my configuration or something, but the thing I'm sure is the problem with the subtitles is in the svn, because in MP 1.1 BETA, 23491, there's no problem at all.

    Thank you for everything.

By the way, is there an easy way to uninstall the svn, or to go back to the plain MP 1.1 beta? I was about to uninstall MP completely and install it again without svn, but I'm afraid to loose again configurations etc.

I'll check to see if something changed regarding subtitles since 1.1 beta and report back.

Moreover, with the last svn (2383) I had this two other issues:
-"Television" has disappeared from the MP configuration menu (only Videos, DVD, Music and Pictures)
-I couldn't change the aspect ratio of the image.
Not sure what happened but remember tha when you install svn you have to install MP then TVServer (not the other way around). When MP is installed, it removes the old TVPlugin, TVServer installation puts the new TVPlugin in MP's plugins directory. If you don't have TVPlugin.dll in MP's plugins directory, then just reinstall TVServer from the SVN you already have.

By the way, is there an easy way to uninstall the svn, or to go back to the plain MP 1.1 beta? I was about to uninstall MP completely and install it again without svn, but I'm afraid to loose again configurations etc.

If you did a backup of your installation folders, just restore from the backup (see: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/520456-post1.html). You may need to re-register filters (for each *.ax in installation folders, run regsvr32 <filename>.ax).
