    Hi everybody,

I'm jst putting togerther a new htpc, for which I need a DVB-C card and stumbled across the Digital Devices DuoFlex CT PCIe. Will this code also work with this card and the respective CI-Interface? I think the CI-Interface is the same as for the DVB-S card. Or has anyone even tested this card in MP?

    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

The DVB-C/T cards will be shipped this month from DD to customers. I placed an order an waiting to test.....

The CI is indeed for DBS-S & DVB-C/T the same, if it worksd is another question... I heard that the changes made in the new driver version 2.0.0.9 are for the CI supporting DVB-C/T.

When I did some test I will put my test results here.

    Hi jarroz,

thanks a lot, it's much appreciated! There's one more question: When I just had a look into the new wiki (Supported TV Cards - MediaPortal Wiki) , I found for the DD CI module

"The Digital Devices CI module can only descramble ONE channel at the time! No matter if your CAM could do more."

On the website of DD it says that the CI module supports "Multi Transponder Decryption". Does that mean that one CI module can decrypt more than two channels but it is not supported by MP (yet)? I'm asking this, because the second alternative for my htpc would be a Floppy DTV-C, which - according to the wiki - definitely supports multiple channels but on the other hand, I'm not sure how long this card will still survive (although Digital Everywhere was acquired by DD, but I assume, in the future they will use DE's know-how to improve their own cards...)

    Thanks again and best regards,
    Michael

    He Michael,

The DD with CI can decrypt multiple channels with the rule that 1 tuner can only decrypt 1 channel at the time. The DD cards have 2 tuners so you can decrypt with those 2 tuners 2 different channels at the same time. I tried it succesfully with 3 channels at the same time (2 Tuner cards = 4 tuners).

With the Floppy DTV I only have experience with the DVB-S2 and this card can only decrypt multiple channels if they are on the same transponder, I think the same applies for DVB-C. Although I'm not sure since I didn't used it before. Hopefully soon I can test the new DD DBV-C/T cards.

If you are building an HTPC I woulkd recommend the DD cards because of their size and power consumption and dual tuner. I use also an HFX micro with 1 Tuner as a server system, the Floppy DTV is a no go in these small enclosures.

    Ahh, understood... Thanks again!

I also have a FireDTV DVB-S2-Card in my other htpc. This card indeed can decrypt multiple channels with one tuner as long as these channels are on the same transponder. This seems to be something the DD cards cannot. However, if I can decrypt one channel with each of the two tuners of the DD card at the same time, I'm happy.

My case will be a Origen-AE S10V and the reason for the DD card is indeed that there are not so many low profile DVB-C cards in the market. But a Floppy-DTV would also work, since I only have one 3,5'' harddisk and there is room for two 3,5'' devices in the S10V.

Back to topic: Looking forward to your tests with the DVB-C card!

    Best,
    Michael

    morpheus you are great!!!

with the last library and the new 2.0.0.20 Driver from DD, CI Menue is okay, and scrambled Cannels are also okay.

Thank you very much for your great job.

Warnig for all DD users: if installing new DD-Driver and set the CI, after first reboot control the CI assigning again!

    Hi Cine-S2 users,

could one of you whose configuration is working with MP 1.2 alpha please post your TV Server configuration settings?

If I disable the CI in the DD-Tool and in the TV Server config all unscrambled channels work flawlessly, but as soon as I use the CI Live-TV behaves unpredictable. Either even the unscrambled channels stop working after only some seconds or I can switch channels about 5 times until it stalls for 40 seconds. Or it doesn't start Live-TV at all.

Before with MP 1.1.1 and the DD driver 1.47.60 everytbing was fine using the patch of Morpheus.

I already tried preloading, stop service and pause service, unscrambling max of 2 channels per card. I even installed different versions of SAF5.00 - using latest version of Nov 3rd right now.

Anyway, thanks for peoples effort on making MP one of the best solutions for Home Theatre!

    Hi Tom92
I can confirm that behavior. Have exactly the same symtoms.
CI menu is not working too.
Have an Alphacrypt Light Module with Sky card in CI.
    System is XP
