    Hi,
The D3DERR_DEVICELOST (everybody has this error without problem) it's not causing your problem, this it's re enabled on resume, & yes the error should probably be called something else :)

Can you upload your logs with the tool so we can find out where it stops?

    Regards
    Roy

btw - I'd hate to muddy the waters - normally I have it set to minimise to tray on GUI exit and minimise to tray at startup./

I tried turning that off for this test. Even with 'minimise to tray on GUI exit" = OFF - on return from the other user, MP is in the tray.

I don't know whether it's relevent or not.

Ronilse, wow ... that sounds like the solution to a problem that is bothering me since a long time!

I can't wait to test (but I have to stay some hours more here in my Sauna-Office ...)

    thanks+regards

okay, I think it does not what I was thinking ... it seems to be more a "switching the hardware on" instead of "starting TV"

(in fact it does nothing ... at least didn't I notice something)

    thanks+regards

    No news on this one?

This is a showstopper for me - If I have to shutdown and restart MP everytime XP fast user switching gets invoked - I'll have to ditch MP.

    one more thing

    1. you start the PC
    2. you watch MyTV
    3. you leave MyTV to homescreen
    4. you stop MyTV playback
    5. you wait until powerschduler hibernates the PC or use the topmenu from MediaPortal to send it to sleep
    6. then resume the PC from S3/S4
    7. then go to MyTV
    8. it is black|mute
    9. if you change the channel
    10. MyTV is working, right?

    A. If you send the PC into S3/S4 with running MyTV -> stop it before
    B. If you are using any other codecs then MPV and MPA -> test with this codecs
    C. If you send the PC to S3/S4 with Remote or Powerbutton on PC case -> try with top menue of MediaPortal or powerschdeuler plugin
    D. If you are using any SVN-build -> do a clean install of 0.2.0.0 final and test again

My problem is not related to standby - it's related to fast user switching - but the DEVICELOST error is the same and MP does not recover from the DEVICELOST.

Even if MyTV is OFF - the screen is lost after return from the other user even if it's simply at the main MP screen.

    Cheers.

    infinityloop:

I am not using powerscheduler at all. It is deactivated because first of all I want to see that MP can get back from standby without an error.

I can test that if you want me to.

But I know that this is NOT the way I want to use myTV. I don't want to explain to my little son to do three steps in order to switch off TV.

My plan is: Be in fullscreen TV - press standby - resume - end up in fullscreen TV. Currently I am having that by killing and restarting MP using a .bat - but that is not a very elegant way.

    thanks+regards

    erm?
    1. leave to homescreen
    2. press stop button
    3. wait till powerschdeuler plugin hibernates the PC

push 2 buttons and you do not need any workarounds....

    my questions are still:
    - what happens if you do like i told you?
    - what happens if you use MPV and MPA?
