displaying tv recording thumbs beside the description text? (1 Viewer)

Quick update:

I've downloaded the above version and have checked that it's creating thumbnails of TV recordings (which it is) but I'm still not getting any TV Thumbs showing in recorded TV so I think it must have something to do with ForTheRecord. I'll go and post on that thread and see what happens. At the moment all I get is the TV Channel logo and sometimes that doesn't even appear..

One other (off topic) thing - the Thumbnailer plugin says *.mpg but it still doesn't create thumbnails for recordings made on my digital camera I see that someone else commented on this previously - any news on why it doesn't work on these recordings?

Thanks for that info and attaching those files. After making those changes I can get an image to appear but it's just the channel logo but it sounds like you're getting a thumbnail from the selected TV programme? Can you take a screenshot of what you're getting?

Hi Bleayle, this is correct / MP displays the channel logo, if there is no thumb available (same on mz side). I have the TV-Recording thumbs in the same location as the recordings themselves - they are created by MP. If setup, you even get thums with "multipictures", e.g. 2x2 iimages from the recording. Thumbs have same name as recording (with jpg extension instead). So it seems to work fine on your side, just malke sure, you also have the thumbs available.

Thanks for persisting with this. ForTheRecord puts every recording into it's own folder, even one off recordings, so I've tried putting the thumbnail:

1. in the folder of the recorded programme

2. in the Recorded TV main directory

It makes no difference The first screenshot is a programme I recorded before installing FTR (hence the default image) the second two are of programmes recorded after installing FTR - both have had thumbnails created for them and stored using 1 and 2 above respectively but as you can see there are no thumbs showing - FTR plugin issue?

I have checked this and noticed that the images must have the hidden attribute.... i don't know why ???

Hey Bleazle did you get this to work with 4tR? I'm having the same problem with StreamedMP + For the Record.

No, I've given up As I said above I can only get the channel logos to show and even they don't show all of the time. Let me know if you manage to work it out! (Note: I haven't asked the question on the ForTheRecord forum so if you've got time you might want to do that)

I didn't see this thread earlier but MP 1.0.1 does displays the recordedtv thumb of the selected item.

...and I can confirm that ForTheRecord V1.4 supports recorded thumbs too - I've just finished skinning it (Beta version)
