I am trying to get mediaportal to work as a client but when I start it it shows the version to be 1.0.0.0 RC3. I have uninstalled fully and re-downloaded the installer more than once, I even copied all the files from another PC (where it does show as 1.0.0.0 without an RC3) and I can't get rid of the RC3 tag. I am struggling to understand how it can be RC3 and not the full release 1.0.0.0.

can somebody veryfi that the download does infact link to the propper version? would it be normal that this version (aparently RC3) will not connect to my server (full 1.0.0.0)

the specs below are for my server PC, not the one with the strange problem.

Older versions may have used virtualstore directory if using Vista as the OS, these files really should be deleted on a change from RC3 to MP1.0.

that would be it. I didn't think of that, meddiaportal realy should start writing configs to somewhere propper, (ie not the program files folder). I deleted that folder and the version came up properly.

still won't connect to my server, but I guess I'll have to go looking at firewall setting etc.

It appares that it is not fixed, I just upgraded from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 and the version did not update. deleting mediaportal.exe.config from the virtualstore fixed it.
