Paranoid Delusion got it right and I second him.
Being a forum op myself in various fora (and bbs sysop and you name it) for quite a few years (even was the founder and cofounder to some), I feel there is a thin balance between what goes public and what does not.
Some times people feel that restricting something to 1to1 is exactly that: restricting. They feel they don't have their public back up. Others believe it is the correct way to do it.
Either way, you cannot change tactics in the middle of the game. This should either had stopped from birth, or left to dry in the open.
Sometime too much control is bad. There have been times in fora that I was the main op that someone even abused me (happened here too but that is another topic). I could have deleted the post and ban the member. Instead, I left him for... public trial and even today people can see his stupid posts. Much more effective. I just want to point the difference in tactics.
Both members are valuable to this community and I hope they put a drop of water in their wine (as we say in Greece).
Also infinityloop bear in mind that Vanessa is a woman (a super 100% definite and undeniable fact hehehe) - and I don't mean this in any other way but just to stretch that we need to take into consideration that female psychology is a bit different than male (plus we probably need to make the step-back first 95% of the times).
Now can we get back to doing what we do best? Me to ask "simple requests", iloop to moderate and control, vanessa to skin.
