Hi. This looks excellent! I've been hoping for this feature for a while now.

I am having some difficulties getting the plugin to actually display inside the MediaPortal Configuration though.

I downloaded the rar file for .4 version from the first post and extracted it. I then moved the 3 DLL files into C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\process

When I startup MediaPortal Configuration and go down to plugins, the only plugin listed in the process category is my Audioscrobbler plugin.

I did notice the instructions says to extract the rar file and move everything beneath the Release folder into my main mediaportal installation. However, the subdirectory below Release is named "plugin" rather than "plugins", which would appear to place the DLL files into an incorrect directory. Regardless, I did try moving the "plugin" folder into my MediaPortal installation folder (resulting in both a "plugin" and "plugins" subdirectory), but that didn't work either.

I am running MediaPortal 1.0.1.0 with the TV Server if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Hi ortech, it seems to be an error - plugin<->plugins. I was confused by it as well but finally it's listed between the other plugins in the control applet.
    I'm not very familiar with this but I know that sometimes you can have cache issues - dunno if this could be your problem.
    Are those 3 files listed and visible in your installation dir?

    Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, the three files are listed in my process directory. Here's a directory listing:

    C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\process>dir /b
    DriveFreeSpacePlugin.dll
    LCDDrivers
    PowerSchedulerClientPlugin.dll
    ProcessPlugins.dll
    Raccoom.TreeViewFolderBrowser.DataProviders.dll
    Raccoom.TreeViewFolderBrowser.dll

    From there I go into MediaPortal Configuration, down to plugins. I've looked through the whole list. It's not under the process category, or any others. :(

    Well, the contents look the same from what I have.
    I can't help you any further, guess one of the guys here - and for sure SilentExcept, who made this - will be able to help you out.

    You didn't by accident unpack the files as well in another directory?

    Just temporarily when I placed the plugin folder from the archive directly into my MediaPortal directory. But that didn't make a difference, so I removed it. As it sits now, I just have the DLL's listed in the plugins folder as listed in my post above.

    Hi guys, indeed nice tooling. One question, I work client/server and then this does not work right ?
    I do have a network share on the client connected to the server disk where the recordings are, but this tool does not also work with network drives, so I am stuck now. Or do I have to do something special ? If not can you include this in your new release ? Thanks.

    ortech: sorry about the plugins<->plugin fookup, will correct this in next release on which i am working these days.. will probably include mpi installation too (but not sure). could you paste your Configuration.log after you start configuration and enter plugins section? as far as i can see, you did everything right, the files are in the right place and MP should show the plugin in configuration..

    Set3: hm, if you have drive mapped i think it should work for the free space.. if you're using unc path \\server\.... then i guess it's not possible.. maybe i'm wrong, i don't have any drives mapped (using singleseat) so tell me more info about your configuration and i'll try to do something..

    i've quickly went through the thread and gathered requests from users so i can fix or add them to new release. finished with this list:

    * daniel_1980: Bitrate calculation (new tag in the text)
    (Is it possible to do some math with the free space values, like calculating the available time for recordings, when assuming a typical bitrate?
    E.g. typical bitrate 4kiBit/s, available space 12,3GiB => available time 25190s = 6h 59min => 6:59h is displayed)
    SE: will add!

    * cruse:
    Introduce a differentiation in the syntax where controls for ALL drives are preceded by Drives.xyz.xyz while single drives are controlled by DriveX.xyz.
    In case of the Drives.xyz.xyz controls, all placeholders referring to a single drive like %drive% or %label% are ignored and %totalspace% is treated as the sum of all totalspaces of the drives selected in the configuration. The same with %freespace% and so on.
    This is useful in case you are not interested in the status of a single drive but want to see the overall picture. In plugins like TVSeries it does not matter on which HDD the files are stored. They are indexed and assembled in one frontend. A total of all HDDs involved would be helpful there.
    SE: unfortunately i don't understand this. there is already Drives. and Drives(X). properties?

    * Bleazle:
    As mentioned previously it would be good if there was something in the the plugin that prevented graphics for drives that haven't been selected from showing..
    SE: maybe Control.HasText(ControlID) would help? you should use ControlID from textual control (which might be offscreen too)?

    Lokk at these settings. They are different from the default
    ...
    <height>17</height>
    <texture>progress_background_tvhome.png</texture>
    ...
    <height>17</height>
    ...
    You can insert osd_progress_background.png in lieu of progress_background_tvhome.png, leave out,

    Play a little bit with this settings and you will get other results ...

    Did you copy the dll as an user with admin-rigths?
    Check this path: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins ... This (AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files) is a "secret" place in Vista. Vista is cheating you when you copy/edit files without admin-rigths in the default program-folder! The "real" place is in the "VirtualStore". This may be the reason why you can't see der Plugin in MP-Config.

    Network drive

    I mapped the recording drive as drive Z on my client. (Explorer / tools / Map network drive)
    Also possible to use : net use z: \\servername\sharename
    Explorer sees it as an additional disk, but you dont. I guess you access drives on hardware level, and not on logical level. Hope this helps you. Hope you can solve it :)
