In MP2 there is no Control Panel - AutoPlay. How may I resolve this problem in MP2, please?
    Cheers
Ralph[DOUBLEPOST=1447674589][/DOUBLEPOST]Sorry - being a bit thick this morning. I've just worked out that you mean Windows Control Panel!

AutoPlay is off in Windows Control Panel, yet, when I insert a DVD it starts to play in MP2. I can find no access to any of the playing controls when this happens, so how to I prevent this from occurring, or, at least, how do I stop it once it has started?

    Cheers

    Ralph

Deda is referring to the Windows control panel. In fact what you observe is a Windows functionality, not MediaPortal. Switch off the former to be able to 100% cotrol the DVD from MePo.

Saw your update only after I had posted my reply.

I am not using DVD anymore (all on server). Let me take a look at my test system and I will get back here, unless somebody steps in with the answer..

    Hello again,

You are correct - the DVD play is starting automatically under MP2 and like you I could not find any menu entry to disable this. However, control of DVD play is easy. The attached screenshot is showing the screen when you are moving the mouse into the lower part, which has the effect of the menu popping up from the bottom.

The behavior of MP2 is probably a matter of taste since inserting a DVD suggests that the user would like to watch the movie - certainly more than just an educated guess.;)

@morpheus_xx , can you comment on the DVD functionality?

I use MP2 to record TV and radio, so it is running all the time.

Recently I wanted to rip some DVDs, so this took place while MP2 was running in the background: I didn't want to watch the DVDs, hence the problem.

I couldn't find the menu, no matter where I hovered the mouse. MP2 played the introduction, then went to a black screen (for ever and ever).

    Cheers

    Ralph

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...

    MP1 MP2 MP2 - V2.5 DVD codec? DE
Apparently Windows hasn't had the codecs to read DVD since about Windows 8 or 10. I've been searching for a DVD playback codec but it requires another player. Is there a way for MP2 to read DVDs?
